Bangkok Ocha is the best Thai food in Charlotte by far. The restaurant looks a little "divey" when you walk in, and service is prompt and moderately courteous - but you don't go to Bangkok Ocha for the decor or the service.

The food will blow you away - and I'm a Thai food fanatic and have tried hundreds of Thai restaurant. Their tom ka gai (spicy chicken soup with coconut milk) is the best I've had - and their pud-thai (noodles with peanuts and chicken) is outstanding.

Prices are very reasonable (like most Thai restaurants - well except at least Tao in NYC) - and for those working Uptown and living in the south it's a great take out on your way home ("Honey how about I cook some Thai tonight?" ...)

Give Bangkok Ocha a try - don't walk away based on the appearance - and you'll keep going back.
