“Best indian in charlotte”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013 via mobile

We eat here once a month at least. The restaurant should be all about the food and it is! That being said, the interior is nice and very clean. They even show cricket for their avid followers.
Back to the food. Their appetisers are wonderful. The salt and pepper mushroom is out of this world. The tandoori chicken falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. They offer you a spice level and it is as accurate as a Kevin Pietersen six. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

“Good Indian Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

I have visited a few times already, pretty close to where I live. This place has good Indian food. If you like south Indian, try the Rava Masala Dosa. The potato stuffing could be better, but the Dosa is real good. Also try chilli Shrimp, it really spicy and worth till the last bite. Biriyani are good for western standards and taste, I have had better Biriyani (it is definitely not Mughlai as another reviewer suggested). If you are trying biriyani, choose chicken biriyani over mutton; it is pretty obvious that the mutton is not really cooked and baked along with spices and rice. Service is very good, could be a little late depending in how crowded it is. Ambiance is better than most Indian restaurants around. Have a good choice of alcoholic drinks if you are interested.

“Great food, helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

If you know what Mughlai food is, you will have heard about biryanis and kormas.. Mughlai food was introduced to India and Pakistan by the Moghuls who invaded the countries (it was then undivided India) some 600 years ago. Today it is the hottest in most parts of the world.

Persis has crafted their biryanis that blend between the Lucknow and Hyderabad styles of preparation. Not the best I have eaten so far, but definitely the best I have tried in US. The entrees, which comprised of chicken tikka masala, methi chicken and a variety of other goat and chicken preparations. For starters, do try their goat pepper fry, garlic chicken and paneer 65.

The staff here are extremely helpful and courteous, so the entire eating experienced was enhanced. Possibly the only and major draw back, was the size of the dining area. It should ideally have been thrice their present size, given the waiting time and growing popularity.
