we like another reviewer went to carowinds on a saturday in june. we waited in line for two hours to get on the one and only ride we rode for the day. my 9 year daughter nearly passed out. food and drinks are way overpriced. we got 4 sodas and two scoops of ice cream total for the day for a grand total of $24. this park is way below the standards of busch gardens. we had planned on staying in charlotte for 5 days, but went home after two. i don't think this park is good if you have younger children. they can't stand the heat and walking and waiting. it really was a very big dissapointment.

I went in 2007 to The BYT(Big Youth Thing) and my youth group spent the day in separate groups around Carowinds, I got stuck in a group with a bunch of people afraid of all the rides I wanted to ride. So me and the friend I brought with me said were going to ride some of the rides we want to meet you up for lunch. After having a great time riding a ton of rides we met back up for lunch. We went to the Happy Days Diner, I dont recommend you go there if you want good food, I ordered a burger, fries, and a shake and it was 12 dollars. The only good thing about it was the shake and it was excellent, The burger was very dry and not worth the money paid for it. So after we re-separated from the group and went back to doing our own thing and we went to the water park, considering it was topping 100 degrees outside we needed some H2O badly, we didnt bother to bring swimsuits so we just jumped in the wave pool on our street clothes, it was a great experience, the wave pool was great and the slides we totally awes. We left the park and went back to riding and were dry before we got to our first ride, it was very hot. We met back up with our group and we got our seats for our concert, which was great, only a little loud. When we left it took forever to find a place to eat but we did, yum McDonalds.

It was a great experience and I would recommend this to anyone from a thrill seeker to a family trying to find a fun vacation.

I made the mistake of venturing to Carowinds on a Saturday in June. I have never seen such rude behavior, foul language, inappropriate comments to young ladies and lack of self respect for oneself in my life. This was coming from the employees! Now the 1000's of wanna be rappers and gang bangers running wide like a bunch of animals is another story.

We went back on Sunday and the atmosphere and park clientele was much different and made for a little better family experience. We still won't be heading back to Carowinds anytime soon. I'll make the extra two hour ride to Dollywood anyday!

We went with my husband's company On June 8. We took our 8 month old son. He was able to ride several of the rides in Nickelodeon Central, the skytower, and the Scooby Doo ride, plus many of the attractions at the water park. It was a scorcher so we invested in a Sovenier cup that you could refill for much cheaper. Food is a bit pricey like most amusement parks are. We all had a really good time, and we enjoyed seeing our son get to meet some of the Nick toons.

I know that Cedar Fair purchased the Paramount parks this year and I was curious to see what if any differences there were. We went to Carowinds 3-4 years ago and returned last week to see... not much difference. Some of the rides are renamed and the water park has an Aussie theme, but it was pretty much the same. Either you're a fan of the park and go regularly, or you're curious and want to know what's new. In the later case, I'd say not much. You can save money by buying tickets online in advance. We also had $10 off coupons from my work. I think there are two ways to fully enjoy the park: either plan on staying for a long time in the water park (in which case you miss riding more rides), or skip the water park and just do the rides. There is no way to really do it all in one day so you have to decide what type of visit you want to have. Longest line we encountered was for the Rip Roarin' Rapids. Shortest was for the Goldrusher. Service at Outer Hanks eatery was extremely slow, perhaps getting understaffed as the season winds down. It was a fun day but we won't need to return for a long, long time.
