Some of the fixtures required maintenance (shower head leaked, and bath tub was nearing its demise) ... but the hotel was clean and completely smoke free. Dining experience was good, just as any other Westin.

This property has the best service of any hotel I have stayed at in the past few months. From the front desk staff to housekeeping to concierge and the restaurant; I was continually impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. The location is fantastic and don't miss a chance to eat at the Ember Grille. This is no ordinary hotel restaurant, the choices cover a wide range of tastes and price points. I had an amazing over-the-top dining experience on my most recent visit.

As a business traveler, I fully understand that downtown hotels are going to be more expensive than surrounding hotels but with that, I feel that they need to provide better than average service as well. Having to pay $18 per day for parking with $12 a day for internet just adds insult to injury. I knew something was wrong when there was no ironing board in the room along with only one bar of soap that you needed to use for the bathroom sink and shower.

Hadn't been to the Westin Charlotte for a few months and spent an overnight there on business this July.This stay was really terrific and there have been lots of changes since then. The hotel is beautiful and easy to get to. The lobby and bar have all brand new furnituread look, and it is slick and very hip. There were jars of refreshing cucumber water when I checked in, and the whole check in was quick and easy. I was upgraded again as a starwood preferred guest. The room was clean and well maintained, and there was some nice calming music playing when I went in. it was a quick trip in and out, but liked having breakfast on the patio to have some nice fresh air t begin the day with. Good, friendly service at a great price. Will stay there again the next time through
