Rough, the rooms are small and laid out strange, the staff was very rude, and unhelpfull, I travel 300 days out of the year and usually stay at a marriott property. This was my first and last to this property.

We had booked a one bedroom suite for me and my family, keep in mind that a one bedroom suite comes with a bedroom door which I never saw in my room. And trust me this room had nothing to be compared to a suite. I would have thought that the room was going t0 be better organized furniture wise. When the sofa bed was open you couldn't walk pass it. So in other words there was no space to pass to were the small sink was and the fridge. And if you wanted to exit the room it was the same problem. This in my opinion is a fire hazard. All 3 days we had to ask for towels because they wouldn't leave enough in the room, even one day I had to go down to the front desk because no one would answer the phone. Oh and another thing they would take their sweet time to bring the towels up. I think that there was not enough staff in the hotel for the cleaning service. The bathroom has small areas with mold which i did not like very much. For the most part the hotel was clean and had a good breakfast, but those were the only two things I saw good about the hotel.

Snowbirds on our way South for the winter season and stayed here one night. The hotel/room were clean and the reception employees were efficient and friendly. In addition, next door to the hotel (a short walk) was a Romano's Macaroni Grill. We had never experienced a restaurant in this chain, but were not only pleasantly surprised (the "Macaroni" doesn't do it justice) but had a great meal, with wonderful service. Highly recommend this location for it's proximity to I-85.

The property is in a great location in the University Place area of Charlotte, with loads of restaurants and retail. Our one night stay was before the Tom Petty concert at Verizon Ampitheater. The hotel offered a shuttle and there was a Macaroni Grill in the parking lot to get a quick bite to eat without any hassle. Suites are nice size and simple in decor. Breakfast buffet had a good variety of food and was well stocked until the last 15 minutes, so go early!
