Arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn on Friday afternoon was greeted with smiles and a very friendly staff. The room was clean and nice we stayed in a King suite with whirlpool tub. The buffet breakfast was great cook to order on many of the items well worht the cost! The Inn was directly across from the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

My Favorite part was the service and the breakfast I will definitely stay there again!!

I went to the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament in Charlotte and this hotel was a short 4 block walk from the Arena. The hotel is also right across the street from the NASCAR Museum. I had a king size room that was clean and comfortable. The wi-fi worked well and the TV was fine. There are lots of hotels in the heart of the city, but this was a great place to stay if you don't mind walking a few blocks to all of the action. The parking is $10 a day, with in and out privileges. All in all, this was a very nice hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again when in Charlotte.

Stayed here while in Charlotte for a conference - would recommend it to fellow business travelers. The room was spacious - one room to sleep in and another room to hang out/watch tv. Also had a jacuzzi tub in my room - added bonus. Didn't spend too much time in the room but noted that the TV resolution wasn't that great (a lot of the channels were fuzzy). There's a restaurant on the first floor (the food isn't that great - only ate there once during my three day stay) but the convenience element of having a restaurant in house versus having to go out was nice. Used the pool/sauna as well - open 24 hrs - not great but again, it was convenient.

I stayed at the HGI Charlotte for an event recently and the stay was below average. There are numerous issues with this hotel, including the following.

The hotel room smelled like deodorizer

The common areas (hallways) were freezing cold

The breakfast was just okay, but I saw one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen, deep fried bacon.

The staff was wonderful in the morning and very weird at night

The parking was almost full, but for some reason they didn't have the top floor of the parking garage open.

The thermostat was manual, which seemed weird in such a new property

The pool was just outright scary looking..

The TV had HD, but it was fuzzy. I didn't know that was possible...

The only thing positive I would say about this is the room (outside of the deodorant smell) is the HGI finishes were very nice, great bedding, nice chair, and good bathroom.. I would be amazed if this property retains its HGI name.

Is this really a Hilton property??

Check in experience was kind of comical. The two gentlemen behind the desk were far too busy discussing Facebook than checking me in. Sorry I interrupted them.

My room reeked of hotel deodorizer...as if someone had smoked in my non-smoking room and the smell would cover it up. Carpet was pretty dingy, as were the bedsheets and pillows. Furnishings in the room were not very clean - night table was sticky and the desk had remnants of food...from a previous guest.

I asked housekeeping to please clean my room - as in wipe down the night table and work desk. No such luck. After the second day, I brought my concerns to the front desk staff...same people, still on Facebook.

I will say that the location of the hotel is so - so. Restaurants are a good walk away...good luck if you eat in the hotel.

Stay away. There are plenty of other, better, similarly priced hotels in Charlotte.

I would like to thank Fritofeet for taking the time to help us identify unsatisfactory points of our experience with us so that we can continue our pursuit of providing the perfect stay for all of our guests. Unfortunately we were unable to provide a satisfactory experieince to this guest much less exceed expectations as we are accustomed to. We look forward to improving our operations so that we can better serve our guests.

This hotel is directly across the street from the NASCAR hall of fame. It is about 3/4 mile from the stadium and the "Epi-Center".

Great beds. The air unit drowns out snoring nicely! $11.00 for breakfast - tad pricey. We stayed on the top floor room 1303. Great view of the NASCAR roof. See pics. There is another Hilton in town that is much more centrally located to the action.

City, on the weekends, is very quiet and clean.
