The Omni was an amazing hotel, every amenity you could think of is included. It's situated right in downtown Charlotte and everything is easily accessible by foot. The room was very spacious, comfortable and luxurious. The bed was the softest I think I've ever slept in! The only bad experience was that upon checking in, I had to present a credit card (not debit) and was 'temporarily' charged $300 for incidentals (I guess this is for the mini bottle of wine and M&Ms in the mini bar). Other than that, my experience was great!

My wife and I stayed here over a weekend in January. We booked a junior suite at a price of $165.00 nite. The room was really terrific. It was large and triangular shaped with windows going down both sides affording a spectacular, panoramic view ot the city. A nice sitting area with a couch, chair and table, along with a work desk in the far end of the room. The bed was very comfortable, and everything in the hotel was very clean.

The best asset of this hotel is the staff. Everyone, from the valet, front desk, housekeeping, and room service, could not have been more pleasant and all worked hard to acommodate our needs.

Criticisms: Bathrooms are small, TVs need updating. On the weekends, all retail shops are closed in the city. The shops that are connected to the hotel are also all closed on the weekend. Particularly the Starbucks on the bottom floor. There is no close place to get coffee in the a.m unless you make it in your room or order from the restaurant. Omni should seriously provide complimentary coffee in the lobby, as do many hotels. Other than these minor complaints......the night life for food and drink near the hotel are numerous and very good.

We would gladly stay here again, primarily for the excellent service.

For a banking city, I expected the rooms to be larger to accommodate business travelers. The room we had had two double beds that were very comfortable. The washroom was tiny, the door almost hits the toilet.

The location was great for getting to the hockey game on saturday and the football game on sunday. Close to a lot of restaurants, but the concierge wasn't very knowledgeable with BBQ joints. We ended up at Hooter's not very BBQ but beer was cheap and just like any other Hooters bad food.

We ate a newly established pub on Sunday night. Not sure the name, but $2 drafts and most plates were around $12. So for getting around it is a 5 star, but the room for top buck would be a 3 star.

After getting a great rate and express check in we were happy until we got to the hotel to find a parade in the middle of Charlotte. With no access to the hotel we circled for an hour until the parade stopped. No one at the hotel had mentioned the parade when we called that morning to see when we could check in.After explaining our upset with Marcus he listened and asked what he could do for us.

We were compensated for our delay and it help make our stay pleasant. Thanks again to the Omni, they will continue to get my business. The Omni is a very good hotel chain.
