We were headed to Myrtle Beach but wanted to make a stop in Charlotte so we could see Lowe's Motor Speedway.

My first impression of this hotel as we walked inside was, it did NOT smell! It had a fresh, pleasant smell and no cigarette odor or musty odor. I loved that!!

The lobby was quite pretty, loved the fountain in the middle. The breakfast area was exceptionally nice and the breakfast items were all good. Love making the waffles, it's fun and they are always delicious! Very spacious area too with more seating than many hotels. They were supposed to of had coffee and cookies out in the evenings but we didn't find anything but crumbs :)

The only things I didn't like were the pillows, flat and hard! And, why is it no one seems to sweep the bathroom floors properly?

The other thing was the outdoor pool was full of rowdy adults and there was no way I could let my children swim with these kinds of adults especially with some of the language that was being used. So they were quite disappointed.

All minor things and a very nice hotel overall !

ps... if you are a NASCAR fan, the Speedway offers a track tour that is fantastic... it was the least expensive thing we did the whole trip and it was FUN! They even take you for a lap around the track! Fun, fun, fun!

pss.... We ate at the Bob Evans near the hotel... eegads...AWFUL ! Terrible service, apparently they haven't heard of Southern Hospitality. The staff was awful from the beginning to the end...hostess, servers, cashiers... lots of restaurants down the road or up at Concord Mills!

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel (and I'm pretty picky). The other hotels in the area were offering rates of $120 for this night but this hotel was in the $70-$80 range for same night. I thought there must be something wrong with it (even had a back-up reservation at another hotel just in case). Not at all. The hotel offers a shuttle from the airport. Front staff had that southern hospitality attitude which I loved. The room was larger than I expected and nicely furnished. I like the separate sitting area. Room was nicely insulated as I did not hear any noise at all from the hallways/stairwells, etc. I understand they offer a complimentary breakfast but I checked out at 5:30 am (breakfast doesn't start until 6:00 am). I will definitely stay here again if in the Charlotte area.

My husband and I drove 12 hours straight from Upstate NY to the Charlotte area so that we could see the DEI Museum before heading to Richmond for the NASCAR Race. After the long drive, we were tired and needed some sleep. We had a bit of trouble finding the hotel, because the street names had changed recently, and werent updated on the Choice Reservation System Website, but other than that - the stay was perfect. The room was very clean, well maintained and lovely. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and the free deluxe continental breakfast was delicious. The waffles were do-it-yourself - which made it fun, the food was all fresh and tasty. We needed to use the business center to get directions, and the facilities were great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Charlotte area. Great Job!
