We got married at the DoubleTree at Southpark on September 18, 2009. It was the most wonderful experience! The staff was very nice and attentive to everything we needed or wanted. Jon Osborne, our Catering/Social Manager, was FABULOUS!! He made sure everything was exactly as we wanted it and made it happen! I would recommend the DoubleTree at Southpark to anyone whether you're having an event or just visiting Charlotte and would like a nice place to stay.

Because of the fantastic location near the great SouthPark mall, I have stayed here many times. It seems something goes wrong every time. This was the last straw and I'll never come again. We were given a suite with faulty air conditioning. Normally at the end of October this wouldn't be a problem, but weather was unusually warm and the room temp. was in the high 70's. After calling the front desk, a building maintenance person came to repair it, which worked for a few hours. By evening however it was back up to 78, and we called for someone to fix it again. This repair lasted 1/2 hr. The front desk (which didn't answer the phone--we had to physically go to the front desk to ask for help) said they couldn't find another room. Next day the maintenance person was in the room for hours working on it, and the second evening it was more comfortable. But over half our time there was spent in a very warm and stuffy room or waiting for the a/c to be repaired.
Previous stays have included an overflowing toilet, inoperable internet, broken ice machines, and refrigerators that didn't cool.
They charge a daily fee for using the internet, an annoyance. This place isn't worth all the hassles. The mechanicals need updating and they aren't willing to do it because their location will get them enough paying guests.

I just got married at the Doubletree Guest Suites Charlotte/SouthPark. The staff was great and the wedding turned out beautifully. My guests are still raving about the food - best they've had at a wedding. My coordinator was excellent, always one step ahead. The overnight rooms were nice and roomy. Its in a great location - walking distance to the premier Charlotte mall that has great shops and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to just stay the night or to hold an event.

My son's wedding reception and brunch the next day was one to remember. Everything was handled very professionally and I can't say enough good things about the entire staff. Jon Osborne was a pleasure to work with and the gentleman that handled the brunch was very nice and helpful. All of the staff made sure that we had everything that we needed and were very friendly.
