We just returned from Charlotte. We were there to see my daughter graduate from college. This was a terrible place to stay. The parking places MIGHT fit a Mini Cooper. When we parked a Honda CRV, we literally had to crawl out of the back hatch to get out. Motorcycles just fit in the spaces. At the front desk I asked if the Time Warner Arena was the same as Bobcats Arena (there are signs all over Charlotte for Bobcat Arena that is where the college had told us to go) the clerk said Bobcat Arena did not exist and she wasn't sure where we should go. Turns out Bobcat Arena and Time Warner are the same place. There were 6 of us and we were given 3 towels. During our three night stay, we had to ask 3-4 times a day for more towels. One TV didn't have a remote and we soon discovered that was because it didn't work at all. The last evening they came to fix it. (after repeated calls). There was nothing in the kitchen except fruit flies. No dishes, cups, cooking utensils.... We asked repeatedly for cream for the coffee and NEVER get any. Our room was 78 degrees the second night and 85 the last night. When we called down, we were asked if we turned on the air conditioner. The next morning we found out most of the guests were complaining about the heat. I overheard a repairman tell the manager there was no freon on the entire hotel. Great time to think about maintenance, Memorial Day weekend while there was a huge graduation and a NASCAR race. The food was horrible. I paid a $45 restaurant bill with a $100 bill and got $11 in change. The server could not ever understand why I was unhappy with this. The manager of the restaurant came and said, "You are good to go." I refused to leave until they got a calculator and saw I was shorted. When I spoke to the hotel manager, his response was "Okay. What do you think the problem is?" We were told we couldn't have more towels because they were full and didn't have any more. The three nights cost more than my house payment for a month and I felt like I had stayed at the Motel 6. It was old, poorly maintained, and the service was horrible.

No luggage trolley to be found on the premises, we drug our luggage and bags down the endless halls to our two bedroom kitchen/den "suite." I use the term loosely. The kitchen had not one utensil, glass or plate, nothing. A sign in the kitchen directed us to call housekeeping for these items should we need them--hmmm? Of course we needed them--that's why we booked a suite w/a kitchen! Ordered them, never received them till next day. Bring your own cup for the bathroom. They claim the health dept. doesn't allow them to put glasses in the bathrooms or kitchen, and the Hilton Co. won't let them use plastic cups. Not because of environmental concerns, but because it reeks of low-rent hotels.

Only stayed for a single night, but I was pleasantly surprised with the staff (Brittany checked me in and was extremely polite and accommodating.) Everyone was very pleasant and the hotel lobby was quite impressive. The room was spacious with all the amenities one could ever need. Cleanliness was top notch. Wait staff for room service was exceptionally courteous and even called to check that I was happy with the food.

All in all, they really seem to be doing their best at this property!

My husband and I booked this hotel for one night to go to a concert at the Time Warner Cable Arena. We booked a king smoking room, and up checking in, we were upgraded to a one bedroom King suite with a balcony. The rooms were a little outdated and set up just like an apartment, but not that big of a deal. The hotel is right down the street from a parking area for the light rail. The light rail is $1.50 each way and it will take you directly to Arena, Coliseum, and downtown area. Also, the hotel is located at Southpark Mall and it makes shopping convenient. Overall, not a bad stay!

My children and I have been staying the week between Christmas and New Years to visit my mother for the last 15 years. All was well until this Christmas when they gave our suite that we had reserved six months earlier to someone else because their room was unavailable. So they gave us two one bedroom rooms across the hall from each other. However my older son had to leave two days before us to go to work, and when he got to the airport he realized that he had left his brand new HP computer that he had gotten for Christmas in his room. I immediately told the front desk and in that hour the room had been cleaned and the computer was gone. No one there seemed to care and I got a nasty letter from their management company saying not to contact the hotel directly. I had been more than nice and courteous to the hotel, so I contacted the Hilton Corporate headquarters and told them I was not interested in being reimbursed, I just wanted them to get rid of the thief they had working there and if they did not I would call the Police and they would do it. That got a response and a call and I told them that they could tell who went in the room during the hour after his departure by doing a lock audit because the plastic key locks can tell who has entered that room for six months. They said they would do that and call me back. After 2 weeks I called them and they said that the audit had proven nothing (although if you understand how the lock audit works I doubt they even tried). It is too bad because we did like this place.
