We just returned from Charlotte. We were there to see my daughter graduate from college. This was a terrible place to stay. The parking places MIGHT fit a Mini Cooper. When we parked a Honda CRV, we literally had to crawl out of the back hatch to get out. Motorcycles just fit in the spaces. At the front desk I asked if the Time Warner Arena was the same as Bobcats Arena (there are signs all over Charlotte for Bobcat Arena that is where the college had told us to go) the clerk said Bobcat Arena did not exist and she wasn't sure where we should go. Turns out Bobcat Arena and Time Warner are the same place. There were 6 of us and we were given 3 towels. During our three night stay, we had to ask 3-4 times a day for more towels. One TV didn't have a remote and we soon discovered that was because it didn't work at all. The last evening they came to fix it. (after repeated calls). There was nothing in the kitchen except fruit flies. No dishes, cups, cooking utensils.... We asked repeatedly for cream for the coffee and NEVER get any. Our room was 78 degrees the second night and 85 the last night. When we called down, we were asked if we turned on the air conditioner. The next morning we found out most of the guests were complaining about the heat. I overheard a repairman tell the manager there was no freon on the entire hotel. Great time to think about maintenance, Memorial Day weekend while there was a huge graduation and a NASCAR race. The food was horrible. I paid a $45 restaurant bill with a $100 bill and got $11 in change. The server could not ever understand why I was unhappy with this. The manager of the restaurant came and said, "You are good to go." I refused to leave until they got a calculator and saw I was shorted. When I spoke to the hotel manager, his response was "Okay. What do you think the problem is?" We were told we couldn't have more towels because they were full and didn't have any more. The three nights cost more than my house payment for a month and I felt like I had stayed at the Motel 6. It was old, poorly maintained, and the service was horrible.
