Absolutely perfect! Located one block from the City Transit Center, it can't be better located. There's a super easy, $2 city shuttle from the airport to the CTC. And this isn't your typical greyhound bus station situation. It's clean and well lit and not inhabited by hundreds of homeless. Also, right at the CTC is the connection to the Lynx transit system - an inexpensive light rail system that will get you out of the uptown area quickly and easily if you so choose (we took it directly to Price's Chicken Coop and Mac's Speedshop, very easy - and highly recommend both for food). Rooms are clean, modern and spacious. Ours included a king sized bed, sizeable flat screen tv, fabulous shower (no tub, but spacious and tall enough for for my 6'2" boyfriend) and a full kitchen with a full sized refrigerator! Rate includes a complimentary breakfast with all the regulars plus a made to order omelette station. Service was friendly and helpful. Bunches of bars and restaurants located near by and easy walking distance to Bobcat's stadium and Panthers stadium. Honestly, just couldn't have asked for more in a hotel and all for less than $100 per night the weekend before Christmas!

Our only disappointment with the hotel was that the first night of our reservation was not honored due to overbooking by hotel. This was a great disappointment and inconvenience for us. We had tickets to the Bobcat game that evening and specifically chose the hotel its proximity to the arena. We waited for an hour and a half in the lobby for our room to be available before we were informed of the problem. By the time that management made arrangments at another hotel (not of the same class, and not near the arena) and secured our transportation, there was very little time to rest and freshen up from our travel... and not enough time for a nice dinner before leaving for the game. Nevertheless, the Hyatt tried to make up for this and graciously compensated us for our night we spent at the alternate hotel.

When we arrived at Hyatt House the following day, our room was ready and we were cheerfully and promptly checked in. Our one bedroom suite on the 14th floor was stylish, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. It had a fairly impressive kitchenette (2-burner glass stovetop; full-size refrigerator; microwave, coffee maker, cabinets stocked with dishes and utensils) which would be a great asset to a guest booking a longer stay. The furnishings were tasteful; the bed was quite comfortable and the bedroom quiet and dark (blackout curtains); the bathroom had a very nice walk-in shower (no tub), good lighting and make up mirror, nice towels; the body wash in the attached dispenser was nice, but the conditioning shampoo was somewhat harsh and did not "condition" (recommend bringing separate shampoo and conditioner if that is important to you).

Our package included breakfast. An attractive variety of items were offered on the buffet as well as juices, fresh brewed Starbucks Italian Roast coffee, and assorted teas. The chef-attended omelet station was great!

I would recommend this hotel to travelers who have business or pleasure in Uptown Charlotte. It is close to many good restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed 5Church, Roosters, and Basil Thai. My only caveat is regarding the booking policies of the hotel, but other than that I would definitely stay at this property again.

This has to be one of the best hotels that I continually stay at...the main reason is for it's very upscale look from the inside and the rooms and the staff...

I made some special requests before arriving at the hotel, since I was going to be arriving very very late (like 2:45 a.m.) the hotel front desk checked me in that afternoon before I arrived so as to not interfere with the audit that night...since when doing the audit. they can't do anything to check-ins or getting keys..so it was done beforehand..

I arrived at the front desk and they welcomed me as they do all clients...

I was given a room on the 15th floor and had a nice view of the city and such..

The room is nicely laid out, has a full kitchenette, regular size refrig and king size bed with full sofabed...

The hotel boasts a very nice full complementary breakfast each morning with omelet stand...

The only negative to the hotel is that if you are parking a car they only offer valet (since it's run by a third party) and costs $22 per night...which is higher then most hotels in the whole city..

The location is also A+ to Time Warner Arena, it's connected to it...a mere one block walk to the huge EpiCentre and a three block walk to the Nascar Hall of Fame...

There is a nice children's museum (Discovery Place) located about a 10 minute walk from the hotel...

Also, is the LYNX (Light Rail) that is a mere half block walk from the hotel...

All and all this hotel is great and is run very nicely..

Another nice touch, a small outdoor heated pool (located on the 7th floor) with sofas, fireplace and such in the pool area...

Always an enjoyable stay and always will return...

Room Tip: If you want a great view of the city and skyline ask for room facing West or (Even numbered rooms)

I loved spending a weekend here in December! Can't beat the location, the hotel is fairly new so everything is still clean and fresh. Check-in was easy, we avoided the $22 valet by parking in the $5 public lot across the street, no big deal at all. The hotel seems very aware of sustainability, however I do wish the showers could be a little hotter! Loved our corner room with a view (much less expensive than other Uptown hotels) with it's mini kitchen, modern decor, flatscreen tv, wifi, comfy bed, and clean bathroom. There was street noise, but not more than any other city hotel. Once of the best features was the complimentary breakfast, which wasn't gourmet, but includes made to order omelets and a variety of other selections - one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had. Would definitely recommend and stay there again (plus it is a clean pet friendly hotel - a rarity!).

I've had the pleasure of staying here on three occasions and I've been most pleased at not only the hotel itself but the great staff. The rooms are gorgeous, the morning breakfast is the best I've ever had at a hotel and the location is wonderful. I agree with the other guest - the elevators are inadequate. I believe that the hotel just has too few, and with so many floors even a speedy elevator takes a while because of the necessary stops as it travels from the top floor to the lobby. I especially like the Gilchrist & Soames bath amenities and the pump bottles in the shower and at the sink - much better than bar soap and a tiny bottle of shampoo! Really the only complaint I've had since day one is the parking situation. I understand that the hotel contracts valet parking to a third-party company; however $22 a day to park is exorbitant. They do offer parking packages when booking reservations but this too is still quite pricey. There is obviously a reason that they don't want guests to self-park in the hotel's attached garage; however Hyatt should most definitely consider taking necessary steps to make this an option. In comparable cities/hotels, the typical rate for hotel parking in an attached garage is $7 for self-parking. The required $22/day is actually the sole reason I don't stay here more often, and the "parking package" isn't that great of a deal. Other than the parking, I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It's extremely clean, very modern and the decor is beautiful!

Room Tip: Be prepared to shell out $$$ for parking. You are required to use the third-party valet if you want...

Thank you for your review, we are very happy that you like our hotel so much.
I am very sorry you feel our elevators are not adequate for the hotel, but with having such a small space to work with for the hotel itself, we are limited as to how many elevators we can have in the hotel.
For parking, we have a valet company take care of our parking for guest safety and security. We do only have a limited amount of spots in our garage so we keep it for hotel use only, and the garage itself is very small with many blind corners, this helps to ensure we do not have accidents in the garage. There are other options to park across the street from the hotel in some of the city lots which can range from $5 to $25 for 12 hours, and they are open air lots.
We hope you come back to see us again the next time you are in Charlotte!
