When we were walking around uptown I saw the signage up one of the streets and was intrigued by the name. Then, as I was searching for our next culinary experience on Trip Advisor I saw Dandelion was well respected. After reviewing the menu and the reviews we decided to go for Saturday’s lunch/brunch before heading to a play.
When we walked in, we looked at each other thinking maybe we were in the wrong place. Kind of an older, Pub looking, café type place which somehow didn’t seem to match the menu I had seen.
Well, I’m here to say, you can’t tell a Dandelion by its prickly leaves. What a delicious surprise. We were eating light and, unfortunately, not drinking. Sadly, we didn’t get to partake in their brunch time Bloody Mary bar, but what fun! Steve had a perfectly prepared Ahi tuna salad; I opted for a more traditional crab cake benny w/hollandaise, my cousin ordered the shrimp & grits along with the Bloody Mary. Every single morsel was beautifully presented, cooked to perfection, creating a celebration in our mouths. Compliments to all involved. Not one thing could be noted negatively. By time we were done with lunch even the atmosphere was endearing. Job well done and would highly recommend Dandelion Market. I suppose that it could get noisy, due to all the hard wood surfaces, and crowded once everyone realizes how wonderful the food is, but not on this day.
