I stayed at the Microtel due to my flight getting cancelled. The airline gave me a reservation number to call and I was sent there. The man that picked me up from the airport described the room as European style. The room was very small and dirty. There were stains all over the carpet and the bathroom was disgusting. I have many layover flights in Charlotte and if this situation happens again, I defiantly would not stay there. It ended up being about $60 with taxes and charges. I'm sure you could find a little bit cleaner place for that price in the area.

If you have a layover in CLT, I highly recommend the Microtel. For around $50 per night, you get a free shuttle bus, a nice continental breakfast, 24-hour coffee and tea, a really comfy bed, free wi-fi in the room, along with unexpected amenities like a hair dryer in the room , friendly staff, and a million cable channels.

This isn't a place that you'd want to stay in if you need to be downtown, but for an airport hotel - they exceeded expectations! Everything you need for one night - including several restaurants within walking distance and several delivery choices.

I slept with my clothes on (thank goodness I had brought my own pillow). When I pulled the covers back to get ready for bed, in between the pillows was a used DIRTY rag. We had just flown into the airport at 3am and did not have the energy to go to the front desk and demand a different room. So for the few hours of sleep we were going to get anyway we made the best of it. Never again will I stay there. Who knows what that rag cleaned up!!!

The first room I was in was indescribably disgusting. So I went to the front desk to get a cleaner room. The second room was a modest improvement. I found a beer bottle cap in the shower drain, pubic hairs all over the bed, soiled sheets, dirty towels, and a smoke-free room that reeked of smoke. Awesome. I'm so glad that I spent four hours of my life earning the wages to pay for this dump. Seriously do not stay here. Remember this one thing: Many viruses can live outside the body on surfaces such as sheets and dirty towels for hours or even days. The reviews that suggest this place is an alright place to stay are straight up lies. Probably the owner just trying to boost the ratings. If you have any sense at all, you are saying to yourself "You had me at pubic hairs" and have already moved on to another hotel.
