The first room I was in was indescribably disgusting. So I went to the front desk to get a cleaner room. The second room was a modest improvement. I found a beer bottle cap in the shower drain, pubic hairs all over the bed, soiled sheets, dirty towels, and a smoke-free room that reeked of smoke. Awesome. I'm so glad that I spent four hours of my life earning the wages to pay for this dump. Seriously do not stay here. Remember this one thing: Many viruses can live outside the body on surfaces such as sheets and dirty towels for hours or even days. The reviews that suggest this place is an alright place to stay are straight up lies. Probably the owner just trying to boost the ratings. If you have any sense at all, you are saying to yourself "You had me at pubic hairs" and have already moved on to another hotel.

For the money, this hotel passes my standards. The room was clean, the air conditioner worked well, and the shower was fine. The lobby area was a little messy, but I don't stay there, I stay in the room. Some of the staff didn't have the most pleasant of personalities, but with that kind of job, I can understand. I was given a tour of a random room before I paid, and I was assured the air conditioner worked well, which is a biggie for me. One thing I couldn't understand was why we smelled cigarette smoke upon entering our room. I think it possibly came from the room above. It wasn't bad enough to change rooms though. I would stay here again.

Upon check-in, Stephanie, the front desk clerk, efficiently handled questions from many different customers at once, arranged airport transportation, convinced staff to come in early for our am flight, and offerred a wake-up call for us--thanks!

When I arrived at the motel, the people waiting in the lobby were the happiest group of people, laughing and enjoying each other's company. It was a good sign that this was a good place to stop. I spent one night at the Microtel Inn on my way to Georgia. The staff is very accommodating and very friendly. I needed a refrigerator for some medication, and they immediately (and with a smile) changed my room to meet that need. The room was quiet, clean, comfortable, all for the right price. The breakfast room was clean and neat and with ample food for me. After having driven solo for over 5 hours, I wanted to get out of the motel and walk some. The Commerce Mills Outlet mall was an easy 15 mile drive on 85. And a gas station on the corner made it easy to fill up. What I love about Microtel is that they have free phone calls, free wireless internet, free breakfast, free refrigerator, great bed coverings with lots of pillows. If I am on this road again, I would stay at this motel.
