“Amazing value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2009

This hotel was wonderful - we spent one night on the way back from Charleston. Had previously stayed at a Hyatt Place in San Antonio with very good experiences and they continued the tradition here! You can expect the same ammenities throughout the group which is nice. The staff here was exceptional, attentive and very nice! Loved the location near the park and lots of green around. Close to the airport so you will hear some planes taking off but we were flying out the next day anyway. The price can't be beat, especially with a AAA discount!

As most people have stated this is very nice hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet area that seems to be a safe as well. That's the main reason I selected it. There were other Hyatt hotels in the area that were a little cheaper, but I did like some of the comments about possible safety issues. The staff was very attentive. We were able to get extra towels and linens at any time we requested. The rooms are exactly how they appear on the pictures. They are surprisingly large. Even though the hotel is not new it has been well kept and have a new hotel appearance. If you looking for a very reasonable hotel in a quiet area this is the place for you.

My only con as some people have stated is the bathrooms are very small.

I stayed at this hotel on the way home from Disney. I found it to be a very nice, clean hotel. The beds were comfy and everything was very modern. The hotel had free wireless internet, an in room refridgerator, and many nice features. The handle to the bathroom door was loose and that would be my only complaint (and really thats just being knit picky)

Upon checking in to our room, we gave it a once over, looked out the windows, in the bathroom, etc. Everything looked fine. I do not know what possessed me to pull back the sheets, but sure glad I did. First the sheets looked really wrinkled, then I noticed you could see the mattress pad lines through the sheets... like they had been slept in. Upon closer inspection, I saw a hair, then more hairs, then I called my husband over. We pulled back the bedding - there were hairs all over the sheets, like some hairy person had slept there and housekeeping had just made up the bed without changing the sheets!!! My husband went to the front desk to get us moved into another room, which the desk clerk graciously did. We were moved to another room down the hall on the same floor. The first thing I did was pull back the bedding, and what do you think I found??? MORE HAIR! It became obvious that the housekeeping staff didn't change the sheets in more than one room! Completely grossed out, we went back to the front desk as a family and explained that in the second room the sheets were not clean on the bed. This time the desk clerk appeared embarrassed and said she would be right back. When she returned, she was very apologetic. She found us another room on a different floor. As compensation she said she would sign us up for the Hyatt Gold Passport points program and put enough points on our membership for a free night's stay. This was agreeable to us, and she promptly got us new room keys. Our 3rd room was clean (at least the sheets on the bed had been changed) and comfortable. The desk staff did their best to rectify the situation. I just wonder how long this has been happening - how many other guests have slept in someone's dirty sheets? I truly hope they change their housekeeping staff. Now i will always - no matter where I stay - pull back the bedding and check for clean sheets. What else can I do - travel with Clorox wipes and a blacklight???

My family and I stayed at this hotel for one night while we were on our way to Orlando ($63 per night with AAA on a Friday). This was our first time staying at a Hyatt Place and we were very pleased. The hotel was clean, the room was huge. We had a room with two double beds, it had a privacy divider and a small sectional couch with a pullout sofa. A huge 42" TV was well liked by all. We thought it was a great accommodation for 5 of us staying on one room for one night. We also had the free continental breakfast. We took a glance at the food for purchase menu just for curiosity sake. We all noted that it was pretty expensive for what was expected, but I could see how its convenient for a business traveler.

We stayed at the Hyatt Place after visiting Carowinds for the day. The hotel is approx. 8 miles from the park. The staff was very friendly and knew the area well-were able to give us great dinner suggestions/directions. The rooms are super nice for the price. Our room had two nice beds, a privacy partition and a large pull out sofa. In the center of the room is a large plasma TV that can swivel to be watched either while on the beds or while sitting on the sofa. Everything was super clean, the room contained extra linens. They offered free continental breakfast in the lobby and checkout was hassle free. This was a very relaxing place to stay after an exhausting day spent at Carowinds.

So me and my husband wanted to get away for the weekend for our anniversary. We thought we would have a blast going to Carowinds and acting like kids again. We wanted to stay at a nice hotel close to the park and so we chose this Hyatt Place. Everything was going great with our first night stay. The hotel is clean and rooms are beautiful. But when it came time to relax at the end of the night and watch a movie......this is where all the problems began. At first we weren't too upset about it and we called the front desk to find out what the deal was. They said that it runs on satellite and is very touchy. It was raining hard that night so we understood and let it go. Then the next night came and again we tried to watch a movie and it still wasn't working!! It had been sunny all day and no showers that night and still the movie option advertised movies but you couldn't actually see any of them. I guess that all the planets in the solar system needed to be lined up with the sun too!! We called the front desk again and this time instead of telling us it was the weather they tell us to give them 20 minutes and they'll call us back. Guess what.....no phone call. We were getting very annoyed. It's our last night in charlotte and we really wanted to be able to watch a good movie without having to leave our room. But oh no too much to ask. We decide to call them up. They have no answers for us other then they put in a work order and a comment about us not being the only ones complaining. REALLY??!!! Well, needless to say we are still waiting for it to be fixed as we speak but I don't think anyone is actually working on it. Now we can't even get HBO!!!! And instead of the awesome range of channels we had before (36 channels to chose from) we only get 33 now. Thanx Hyatt for making our last night here incredibly awesome! Please do you and your loved ones a favor.....go somewhere else where they actually try to fix any problems you may have.
