“Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2011 via mobile

Chima is amazing! We've been a few times and are planning the next visit. I'm a CIA grad & my hubby is a chef, so believe me when I say we are tough critics. The ambiance is nice: lively, kinda busy, white tablecloth service (including the crumbing of tables) with attentive waitstaff.

Make sure to come hungry. You'll have so many delicious options that you won't even have room in your belly to try them all. Someone mentioned in an earlier review that the salad bar is to "fill you up on cheap stuff before the expensive meat comes out"... not true! 1st of all, the meat is not put on hold by anyone but you. Simply turn the card over and you'll have a line of servers waiting to offer you some sort of protein. If you want a specific type or cut of meat, just ask. The servers wear mics and ear pieces, within seconds a gentleman scurried over with the swordfish we requested.

The variety is pretty extensive and most items are not found on a typical salad bar. The salad bar is displayed nicely: fresh mozz, carpaccio, asparagus, cheese display etc. Rice & hot veggies are also available at the buffet table. Mixed drinks are priced high, but stong and well made.

The servers are always very attentive, never an empty glass of water. Not a single complaint from us. Chima is pricey, but it is by far our first pick for special occasion dining. Want to wow a client or out of town guests? This is the place to do it.

Last time we dined at Chima, we requested separate checks. The server accidently charged our cards the wrong amounts. When he entered the items a 2nd time he added the amounts wrong. Our cards were charged twice, which put holds on our bank accounts for the incorrect amounts twice. Before we had any idea what had occured: the manager came to our table & apologized, explained that he understood the funds on hold would be a huge inconvenience, then comped the ENTIRE four person table with a $250 tab. Seriously, what amazing customer service!

“Good Times - It is a Meat Extravaganza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2011

Chima provides a great time with a lively atmosphere. If you are looking for the traditional multi-course meal, this is not for you. For about $50 per person - you get a large salad bar and "Waiters" walking around with skewers of 8-10 different meats for you to sample. When you find one you like, just ask for more. It is great to try new food at a nice restaurant.

“Great place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2011

Went for my husband's birthday. What a great place for dinner! The service was amazing and the food was even better. The salad/appetizer bar was fresh and excellent. We recommended this place to my parents when they were in town visiting. They go to different Brazilian Steak Houses in every city they visit. They thought Chima was by far the best they've had.
This is a far cry from Golden Coral.

“We love this place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2011

Have been back several times. Service is always great and food is excellent. Someone said like Golden Corral??? Are you kidding me? Last time I was there...which isn't often because that place is disgusting...they didn't have proscuitto, beef carpaccio, fresh mozzarella, etc...at the golden corral. We will def return to Chima. :)

“great food, good service, but not cheap.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2011

we went during restaurant week, so we paid $30.00 each. This got us the fabulous soup and cold food bar, whic had a lot more than salads, like corn mouuse and smoked salmon, then there were eight kinds of beef, pork, chicken, ribs, and fish. Then we had sides on fried plantain, pureed potatoes, appetizers, and water. We did order mixed drinks, but were a bit shocked at the $12.00 per drink price tag, a bit high for Charlotte, and my sister never got a refill of her coffee. even though they refilled our tea three times. The wine list was good, they even have ice wine, and the meat came by evey two to five minutes. everything was fresh, the meat was hot, and they have nice desserts as well. They have "free valet parking." but of course you tip, unless you are really cheap. Go early on busy nights, because it can get noisy when it's full. they have two floors, and an elevator. they have a free coat check. and it's way better than golden corral, where most everything is dumped out of a can. you get what you pay for.
