A group of us check in to this bed and breakfast every winter for the CIAA basketball tournament in Charlotte. We love it because there is no fighting for a parking space or long wait for elevators. All of the rooms are different and they are very spacious with a living area. The breakfast was excellent with quality meats, fresh fruit, eggs/homemade quiche and muffins. This is an older bed and breakfast but I would highly recommend it! It's not in the middle of downtown but still close enough to the Bobcats Arena and Southpartk Mall. My only complaint is when we forgot to check-out, we were charged $25 for keys... even though I told them I would mail them the next business day. There are no bellmen so expect to park your own car and carry your own bags. The rooms were a little chilly in the morning, but small space heaters are placed in each room. No plasma tv's here...just a small television in the siting area and not the bedroom. Most beds are queens and I only saw one king bed. My bathroom was small and had no spacetop for my toiletry bag. Spa robes were a nice touch. Management leaves at 11pm so don't expect someone to answer a call to the front desk. A free newspaper is dropped off every morning.

I booked a mother-daughter weekend for one night here this past month. I got lost trying to find the inn, called them to let them know we were coming and asked for directions from a fairly uninterested front desk.
Upon arrival, we found that there was a wedding taking place and a sign on the second floor asking guests to take the emergency exit back staircase and avoid the lobby due to a private event as they use the lobby as part of the events scheduled there. Well, the emergency exit door was locked at the bottom (wouldn't that be dangerous in a fire??) so we had to trek back up the steep stairs and use the lobby stairs - irrespective of any party. (There was no one around when we exited.)
Impressive in their attention to detail in the guestrooms. However, it is NOISY. You hear everything including the guest in the room next door using the toilet. The baseboards & and room corners were black with accumulated dirt. They just need to be ripped out and redone - or at least repainted.
The morning we were checking out, we asked for directions at the front desk and suggestions on shopping places. But the person at the front desk said they had no idea as they were from out of town!! They couldn't find a city map and ended up giving us the wrong one with no guidance whatsoever. I wouldn't expect that of a small, inn. I probably wouldn't stay here again which is a shame because the innkeepers seemed concerned about details - just not all the correct ones.
