I booked a mother-daughter weekend for one night here this past month. I got lost trying to find the inn, called them to let them know we were coming and asked for directions from a fairly uninterested front desk.
Upon arrival, we found that there was a wedding taking place and a sign on the second floor asking guests to take the emergency exit back staircase and avoid the lobby due to a private event as they use the lobby as part of the events scheduled there. Well, the emergency exit door was locked at the bottom (wouldn't that be dangerous in a fire??) so we had to trek back up the steep stairs and use the lobby stairs - irrespective of any party. (There was no one around when we exited.)
Impressive in their attention to detail in the guestrooms. However, it is NOISY. You hear everything including the guest in the room next door using the toilet. The baseboards & and room corners were black with accumulated dirt. They just need to be ripped out and redone - or at least repainted.
The morning we were checking out, we asked for directions at the front desk and suggestions on shopping places. But the person at the front desk said they had no idea as they were from out of town!! They couldn't find a city map and ended up giving us the wrong one with no guidance whatsoever. I wouldn't expect that of a small, inn. I probably wouldn't stay here again which is a shame because the innkeepers seemed concerned about details - just not all the correct ones.
