Okay, if you have kids and travel a lot, you've probably seen places like this everywhere you go: a place that attempts to fuse learning and fun with a bunch of colorful hands-on activities for kids. This place has that in spades, but with a quality of exhibit design that rises above what I've seen elsewhere. There is both more science and more fun here than I expected based on its generic sounding name. While kids of all ages seemed to be having a blast (my 3 yr old loved it), I think that it would have greatest appeal to 5-10 yr olds. A few things to note:
1. Besides the large floors of endless kinetic interactive mayhem, there are quiet "labs" off to the sides that allow kids to focus on really interesting hands-on experimentation and investigation which could easily engulf hours if you have a focused inquisitive kid.
2. The little cafe on the ground floor had surprisingly good food and atmosphere for this kind of place. It's still basically food from a cooler, but it was fresh and healthy. Besides they had fun cupcakes.
3. Walk around to the entrance to the Imax theater even if you aren't going to see a movie and you can see the workings of the film projectors which is a rare sight.
