Check in was easy and pain free. My room contained a queen sized bed, a television with a VCR/DVD player, a CD player/clock radio, a Lay-Z-Boy like recliner, plus other standard hotel furniture. The kitchen area had a full sized refrigerator, a two-burner stove, a large microwave, a sink, a dishwasher, ample pots/pans/plates/silverware. The hotel offers free laundry, and has an on-site self-serve convenience store that is always open. The hotel does not offer complimentary breakfast, and offers only weekly housekeeping. If you need fresh towels/linens between housekeeping visits, you can exchange them at the front desk.

I would recommend this place to people on tight budgets or per-diems for hotel expenses, especially those who will need to stay in the Charlotte area for a few weeks/months. If you are expecting more than minimal service, or free breakfasts in the morning, than this place will not be the right place for you.

I wasn't thrilled when I heard about this place. My sister booked these rooms (she got some deal from [--]) for the seven of us that were going for the bowling tournament.

We had to book four rooms since they only have rooms with one double bed. Nothing with two double beds in it so it wasn't that much of a "deal" like my sister thought.

In one room, the toilet wouldn't quit running. My husband opened the back tank up to find a box a Kleenex floating in there. The same room had a "possessed" alarm clock that kept beeping! They unplugged it, but it still went off, took the batteries out and STILL - beep, beep, beep!

The "Candlewood Cupboard", the honor system store, had some stuff in it, but not a huge selection unless you liked frozen dinners.

The exercise room, which is connected to the Candlewood Cupboard, had a stair climber, two treadmills, and a bike.

The laundry room, which is also connected to the exercise room and Candlewood Cupboard was nice. It was free to use and they had detergent to buy there.

Rooms were clean and well equipped with stove, sink, fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. There was a couple packs of coffee when we first got the room, but we had to buy more at 50 cents per pot. (Small pot) Microwave had free popcorn in it though! Beds were comfy, but pillows a little flat!

The manager and staff were awesome! They were great in helping us find great places to eat, giving directions, etc. They always greeted us every time we saw them! They were the best part of this hotel

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It wasn't fancy, but it was clean. I even opted for a smoking room because it was so much cheaper (I don't smoke) and it didn't smell like a smoking room at all. The kitchen facilities were clean the exercise room was sufficient. The staff was very helpful and responsive when I had a problem with my clock.

One suggestion, if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room that isn't on the same side as the train tracks. The train passed by several times during the night so this could be a problem for some.

I enjoyed this property. The room has a recliner, fully equipped kitchen (including a refrigerator, stove top, large mircowave and storage space for groceries). There is plenty of parking, an honor system store, free laundromat (you pay for the detergent), and free video rentals. There is free high speed internet access, personal mail boxes and voice mail. There was a combination of business travelers and families.

Recommendations: If you prefer bottled water bring your own, it goes fast in the store. If you want a double and there are only two people, be sure to verify that your room will be a double, we received a king.
