My wife and I stayed here for two nights during a weekend trip (Oct 20-22) to Charlotte to vist a friend. The hotel is located in somewhat of a "shady" looking area but it is right off the interstate. I would not call it the "safest" feeling place in the world but it worked out okay. We checked in late Friday night and got to our room. All of the room entries are on the inside which made us feel a bit safer. When we entered our room there was a loud smell that we could not figure out if it was from the disinfectant or maybe mildewed water from the A/C or something. My wife thought it smelled a hint of citrus but personally I felt it reminded me a cat urine. After being in the room a while it was not as noticable. We didn't stay in the room much at all while we were there so this was not a big deal but it was noticable off and on while we were in the room. I suppose we should have asked for another room but since we didn't come to spend our time at the hotel we just let it slide. This hotel is located right next to the railroad tracks so it's possible this could be a bother. I think we noticed the train go by once while we where there. It was noticable but not really a bother to us. The room itself, other than the foul smell, was okay. Everything looked clean. It was nothing fancy but an OK room for the price. They had continental breakfast each morning which consisted of danishes, cofee, and juice. It only lasted until 9am excepted on Sunday they did have stuff out after 9 which for late risers was good. The best thing about this hotel was the price. I guess you get what you pay for. It was not the worse place I've ever stayed but I'm not jumping at the bit to go back either.
