(Don't stay here like we did--see the bottom of this review for a REAL hotel!)
My husband and I had been up for about 20 hours (worked all day and traveled 5 1/2 hours to get to destination). We arrived after midnight. The gentlemen that checked us in was so friendly. We got our room keys, changed into our pajamas, and pulled back the covers for a most unpleasant surprise. We had about 2 DOZEN PUBIC HAIRS between the two sheets! We called the front desk and he apologized and offered another room. You have to understand how exhausted we were. We said no for then, wiped downs the fitted sheet, removed the flat sheet and made due with the blanket for the night. I was going to request all the bed linens, including the blanket and comforter be changed the next day ( and also a new vacuum job to get up all the hairs we wiped out of the bed. We ate breakfast first (it was ok). I kept my purse on the table while eating. When we finished, I was going to the front desk to check on someone recleaning the room, so luggage would not have to be moved, etc. Well, I had a ROACH on the side of my purse! (Remember, my purse was on the table, not the floor) That was the straw that broke the camels back. I spoke with the lady at the desk. She was not as friendly as the gentleman at check in. I told her about the night before and the roach on my purse. As I continued on, she finally said she was sorry. I told her it was not her fault but I really wanted to check out. We were suppose to stay for a second night and she informed me that I would not be charged for the second night. I asked if they would charge for the first night. She said it was not their "usual order" or something like that to refund. We should have been offered another room after the bed incident. I told her the gentleman did offer but we were just exhausted and took care of the problem ourselves for the time being. She said I would have to take that up with hotel management. Long story short, we checked out and the Hampton Inn just down the road matched the Comfort Inn rate and let us check in at 9:30am without any additional charge! The Hampton Inn was clean, spacious, and no roaches and pubic hairs!!!!! If you are looking for a hotel in the University area, go to the Hampton! Here is their info:
