“Good Place to Stay in Uptown Charlotte”

I stayed at this hotel on a Thursday night, I had tickets to a Bobcats game and I booked the hotel on Hotwire for $79/night.

The hotel is located right in the heart of Uptown. Overall it was a very nice place to stay, the staff was helpful and my room was clean and quiet.

I opted for the valet parking for $14/night compared to the self parking of $10/night. This was a smart move, the valet staff was quick.

I didnt try the restaurant but it looked decent.

Pros: great location, professional staff, valet parking, clean room, good price
Cons: Fitness room was one of the worst I have ever seen at a hotel. There are 6 cardio machines and 5 of them were not working!

Considering past stays in other Holiday Inns (see my other reviews), the Charlotte Holiday Inn was a complete surprise - it was the nicest Holiday Inn I have ever seen. The hotel has clearly put significant money into its well-done renovations and has the tasteful look of a much higher-end hotel as a result. From the addition of microwaves and small refrigerators (a nice touch for those of us who like to bring leftovers home) to up-to-date gym equipment and free internet, this hotel was well worth the price. Staff was quite helpful and the hotel is well-situated to restaurants and other activites (definitely try the Cosmos Cafe across the street). Downsides included a bit of rust along the bathroom door frame (considering the recent renovations, it was a surprise) and an Italian food-only room service menu (no burger and fries?!). Other Holiday Inns franchise owners should take note of this hotel's efforts.

stayed in holiday inn weekend of the 11/112 Nov,very friendly
helpful staff at front desk, check in was quick even though they were busy.
very pleased with the room, nice quiet, and very clean. the location of this hotel is excellent whithin walking to everything

In the center of Charlotte, walking distance of everything, it was just right for our weekend trip. The Bank of America building was our view from our room window. The most important thing was the staff. Everyone was pleasant, ready to answer questions and help out. Even the guys who parked the cars seem to go out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The hotel was somewhere I would go back to stay and tell others to stay there. The cost was very reasonable.
