this was my 2nd time staying here in 2 months time. Nice hotel but clerks need to be more knowledgable about discount rates and not charge charges for phone calls that are not local distance after you have checked out. I got home to check my bank statement to see they had charged me for long distance phone calls that were actually local. The manager, Sam was very helpful and help clear this up but what if I had not caught it. Also had an ant problem and the clerks expect u to run downstairs everytime to get ant spray..

BE CAREFUL AND CHECK UR BILLS ONCE U ARRIVE BACK HOME

We stayed here along w/ a bunch of other p'heads the night of the Buffett show, which was 3 mi. down the road. Pleasant front desk staff (ask for Mary) although the place was sold out and lots of folks were arriving early. We were able to check in at 1:00pm. Tons of restaurants nearby. The Flying Saucer down the road has 200-some beers on draught. Small but clean & comfortable rooms - I like how they do the showers - lots of room and no nasty curtain. B'fast hit the spot - WAFFLES!. We'll stay there next time for sure. About $72/night.

Well, where do I start. The Hotel lost my rate price from the online reservation system and insist I pay an extra 20 dollars to stay there. When I explained to them I had received an email verfying my rate...the clerk pointed me to the broken lobby computer to prove it to her. After 22 minutes and three useless attempts to pull up the internet I was told my only option was to call the 800-number and deal with them.

I did--from my own phone mind you. 45 minutes later the reservation center faxed in my rate. Without so much as an apology the hotel clerk handed me a key to a substandard, dirty room.

I had been traveling 5 hours, plus and was due to get up early.....This visit has lost Sleep Inn many nights with my company.

Obviously you don't book a hotel in this price range ($70) expecting something luxurious. However, at the very least you should be able to expect a clean room. The room I paid for smelled strongly of some sort of animal, almost like kitty litter. We were told that there were no other vacancies in the hotel that night or we definitely would have demanded a new room. The people in the room next door had a dog, so between the smell in my room and the dog barking next door, I am assuming the hotel allows pets. The hotel does not tell you this up front, so beware if you have bad animal allergies.

Also, we were given a handicap accessible room without being told. The shower was a hand unit on a pole that didnt go very high and had very little pressure. So I had to bend down to take a shower while the water dribbled out. It would have been nice if we were told this before we rented the room.

In addition, at about midnight some guests got back from a concert and started drinking in the hallway and banging on doors until about 5 am. The hotel staff did not stop them from doing this. It would have been nice if someone did rounds or something to prevent this from happening.

One positive was the breakfast. They had a wide range of choices and everything was fresh. I told the front desk about my concerns the next morning and they refunded me 15 dollars without even asking for a refund. It was a nice gesture, but I would rather have had a clean room, a decent shower and a quiet night. In the future, if given the choice between a sleep inn and anything else in this price range, I will definitely not be choosing the sleep inn.

My wife and I stayed here for one night while on a business trip to Charlotte. It was not bad for a $58 stay. Seemed fairly clean; competent staff; no frills; in-room coffee wasn't bad; 50+ cable channels. The bathroom was a little odd--no bathtub, just a shower, and a shower door that opened too easily. (When I leaned against it lightly, I nearly fell out as it opened.) The breakfast selection was pretty good, with about 30 items to choose from (bagles, cereal, sausage biscuits, fruit, muffins, toast, coffee, danishes, juice, etc.). The surroundings are nothing special--just a parking lot, not much green grass. If you're traveling to north Charlotte and want a decent place in the $50$60 range, this is about as good as anywhere else. It appears that this is where a lot of construction workers stay, as the breakfast room was full of blue-collar type men at 6:30 a.m., but most were gone by 7:30 or so.
