Obviously you don't book a hotel in this price range ($70) expecting something luxurious. However, at the very least you should be able to expect a clean room. The room I paid for smelled strongly of some sort of animal, almost like kitty litter. We were told that there were no other vacancies in the hotel that night or we definitely would have demanded a new room. The people in the room next door had a dog, so between the smell in my room and the dog barking next door, I am assuming the hotel allows pets. The hotel does not tell you this up front, so beware if you have bad animal allergies.
Also, we were given a handicap accessible room without being told. The shower was a hand unit on a pole that didnt go very high and had very little pressure. So I had to bend down to take a shower while the water dribbled out. It would have been nice if we were told this before we rented the room.
In addition, at about midnight some guests got back from a concert and started drinking in the hallway and banging on doors until about 5 am. The hotel staff did not stop them from doing this. It would have been nice if someone did rounds or something to prevent this from happening.
One positive was the breakfast. They had a wide range of choices and everything was fresh. I told the front desk about my concerns the next morning and they refunded me 15 dollars without even asking for a refund. It was a nice gesture, but I would rather have had a clean room, a decent shower and a quiet night. In the future, if given the choice between a sleep inn and anything else in this price range, I will definitely not be choosing the sleep inn.
