Pleasant and knowledgeable front desk staff. House-keeping staff gave friendly greetings coming and going ! HUGE TIP: Get away from ground floor noise and traffic. Two rather quick elevators available... stay up on top (5th. floor) for quite time. Out away from downtown, so allow time (20 mins.+) for cab rides or driving to any attractions.Plenty of places to walk your pet :)
DO NOT EAT at the Shoney's Restaurant next door ! Badly run, un-caring and indifferent management to complaints - even their web-site never responded to our detailed complaint! Felt ripped-off for the $26.00 spent there. Plenty of other restaurants nearby to select from.

This is a convenient place to stay for visitors to UNC-Charlotte, Lowe's Motor Speedway, Concord Mills Mall, and other attractions in the University City/Concord area.

This is a fairly large property as far as Sleep Inns go, with five stories.Getting in and out is a bit tricky, as the turn into the hotel (behind Shoney's and Bojangles) is a tight turn. If you want to get back on Harris Blvd. you have to turn right out of the entrance and make a U-turn at the next light.

The hotel itself is clean and kept well maintained. There was a problem with cleaning carts and piles of dirty linens in the hallways (we checked in about an hour before the posted check-in time), and with some of the workers hanging out in the breakfast area.

The room itself appeared to be newly furnished, with new flat-screen TV and micro-fridge unit. The beds are comfortable, but the rooms with two beds have doubles instead of queens. This hotel apparent;ly only have the Sleep walk-in showers, as I requested a standard tub but did not get one.

This is a VERY busy and noisy area, and whatever soundproofing the hotel has isn't enough to keep out the sounds of sirens and revving motorcycle engines. Noise from the hallway was also a bit too loud. Breakfast is the upgraded Sleep Inn buffet with self-serve waffles.

Overall, if you can put up with a bit of noise, the Sleep Inn is perfectly fine for a couple nights. With lots of shopping and restaurants around, there's plenty to do- if you feel like fighting the traffic.

  • Liked — Clean, friendly staff, well maintained, close to attractions
  • Disliked — Needs more soundproofing

This is the second time I've stayed here in about 6 months, and while it's not a 5-Star hotel, it is clean, and a good value. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, and the internet works great. I paid $66 for a night in April 2007.

So, you walk in to the hotel, and yes, it's a small studio room with a Queen bed, but smartly decorated so that you can open the doors fully without hitting the furniture. The room was clean and the air was cold, so upon first entry, I was comfortable. I would not vacation at this hotel, but honestly, it was a safe, clean, and relaxing place to stay for 3 nights. The wireless gave me no trouble, and the breakfast was tasty (and complimentary!). You could make your own waffles, cereal, various juices, coffee, bagels, fruit, and yogurt, so it was a step up from the expected continental.

The downsides for me was the location of Harris and Tryon. The area is doing construction and the traffic is heavy. The staff was not overly friendly, but never any issues. I would stay here again for the price.

this was my 2nd time staying here in 2 months time. Nice hotel but clerks need to be more knowledgable about discount rates and not charge charges for phone calls that are not local distance after you have checked out. I got home to check my bank statement to see they had charged me for long distance phone calls that were actually local. The manager, Sam was very helpful and help clear this up but what if I had not caught it. Also had an ant problem and the clerks expect u to run downstairs everytime to get ant spray..

BE CAREFUL AND CHECK UR BILLS ONCE U ARRIVE BACK HOME
