Here is a copy of the letter I wrote to the manager. I believe it says it all.
Do you know how wonderful your hotel and staff are??? They all bent over backwards for my husband and myself earlier this week. We originally had reservations for the Comfort Suites down the road for April 20th for two nights. We had been awake for about 20 hours (traveling from Chattanooga the last 5 1/2 hours of that time span) and were exhausted. Our first night there was filled with horrible sights, starting with over two dozen pubic hairs between our sheets and ending with a roach crawling on my purse , which was up on a table (not down in the floor). We were so grossed out. We saw the Hampton sign the next morning and I went in and told the girl at the front desk (she had long blonde hair) a little about our adventure, not being really specific about the hairs and roach. She understood where I was coming from, through my distress look I am sure, and offered me a room (immediate check in, at no extra charge), matching the Comfort Suites rate. You may have been the manager standing there with us ( a tall gentleman). I am not sure. He was so wonderful to match the Comfort Suites rate, and he promised a clean room with no hairs and roaches. I can honestly tell you that our one night at your hotel was my best hotel stay ever! Your staff seems to be really caring about each other and for all the guests, as well. They talked and laughed with each other (and with the customers) as we checked in. The lady working in the breakfast area was so genuine. What a sweet lady, and she did a fantastic job. She knew how to do her job and strike up real conversations with the guests. Nothing fake about her! I know she was on duty, but when she spoke to you, she made you feel as if you were at her own house, she was your best friend, and was she was so glad to see you and catch up on what had been going on in your life.
My husband and I don't get alot of "out of town" time together, due to his crazy work schedule. We were both looking so forward to getting out of town for a few days, and enjoying each others company and taking in a concert. I started out being a nightmare. It would have all been a disaster but your hotel and staff saved the trip. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
I am a Hampton Inn customer from now on, and that's a promise!
