While the common areas seem to be recently renovated, the rooms are old and tired. I was, unfortunately, only able to get a smoking room given the late reservation I made. It smelled of stale smoke, but it wasn't overwhelming.

The furnishings have seen better days and you can feel the springs of the mattress beneath you while you sleep. The window unit air conditioning unit was very loud, but it did a good job of drowning out the noise from the nearby airport. The room itself was clean, though the bathrooms need to be overhauled since there is some mildew ingrained in the grout. For an extended stay, one would expect a little more room as far as a refrigerator/freezer goes. A cooktop would also be a nice touch.

I found the staff friendly and willing to please, but noticed a few people complaining about their rooms and they seemed to walk away without being satisfied, so perhaps I was just lucky?

The breakfast was above average for this class of hotel. The standard continental fare, plus make them yourself waffles and some scrambled eggs and sausage.

I'd probably stay here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

I was booked in this hotel for overnight stay by my airline due to a delayed flight. The front desk was not bad but they booked me in an occupied room initially and it was shocking to enter a room and find someone inside. The room that I eventually got had some non functional light bulbs and there was a spider in my bath tub. I asked for a wake up call at 6.00 am but never received that. Thanks to my mobile phone, I was able to get up on time to catch my flight. Do not go to this hotel unless nothing else is available.

On our return to Charlotte on 7/28/07, We ended up back at this Amersuites Hotel which had overbooked us on 7/21/07. They had the proper room this time but as we entered the room, the deodorizing scent they used was very strong. My Cpap machine still had that same odor in it a day later.
We informed the front desk that we were returning the rental car to the airport and would like the shuttle back to the hotel. They said to just call when we ready at the airport. We called and were told that the shuttle had just left for the airport. It never arrived. Over a half hour later we called again and were told they would send the shuttle again. About a half hour later it finally showed up. Over a hour wait for a 3 mi. shuttle.
The free breakfast was not available because we had to take the shuttle to the airport at 7 a.m. before breakfast was available.
The shuttle was also running late because the front desk clerk was our shuttle driver and wasnt relieved at the proper time. We also loaded our own luggage while we waited for the driver.
The remote for the TV didnt work, we turned it in and never got it back.

Stayed here on Friday April 21st overnight. I have to say the room was clean, and comfortable. Air conditioner was noisy. Pillows on the bed were flat and they had no extras. continental breakfast in the am does not start until 7:00 am on the weekend, we needed to leave at 6:30 to go to the airport for a flight out. Was able to leave our car there and took the free shuttle service. Would have liked to been able to grab a muffin or something but no dice. !!

No other real problems.
