After traveling 10 hrs from Florida we arrived at this hotel. We were sent to the furthest bldg from where we checked in. We noticed an armed security guard on patrol. The rooms were not clearly marked and my husband had to get out and walk around to find the room. The bldg was dated, felt like a dormitory. It was musty and very gray. The 2br suite was ok, but could have used updating. There were pubic hairs on the bathroom floor which completely grossed me out. Right after we got settled in we began hearing a group of teens under our window in the parking lot. They were laughing and goofing around. They proceed to get into a sports car and apparently the girl driving did not know how to drive stick shift. The noise was deafening. They would go in & out of the hotel every 20 mins or so for the next nearly 5 hours! Screeching back & forth and yelling & laughing each time they parked and left. At 3 am I finally called the front desk to ask for security to come. Withing mins security was in the parking lot and luckily they came screeching back in. He clearly was reprimanding them and made one of the boys park the car away from the bldg. By this time it was 3:30. At approx. 7am we were awoken again by this group leaving in their noisy car. $200+ for less than 4 hrs sleep. Not exactly what I would got getting what you pay for! I complained to the frond t desk clerk on the way out. He apologized but didn't offer me anything to compensate me for our troubles. The breakfast was less then stellar, no forks, paper plates, they ran out of things, and there were not enough tables to accommodate all the guests.

The Residence Inn had SMALL ROOMS (the bed hardly fit in the room), a FILTHY POOL, LOUD GUESTS. Location was GREAT, continental breakfast was OK, parking was limited.
The unit we had was furnished with a squeaky AC, but that is just a one time experience. For the price, it wasn't worth the price from discount site.

  • Liked — kitchen to make own food could save families money, comp continental breakfast, good location
  • Disliked — value, size, ammenities

I didn't care much for this place. It's basically like staying in an apartment complex full of efficiency units, but they seem dark inside, with older, run-down furnishings. The rooms have full kitchens, including plates, glasses, silverware, etc., so I guess this place would be good for extended stay customers if it wasn't so depressing. There's a complementary breakfast and evening social hour, but no restaurant on site. The staff was very nice at check in, but I just can't get past the drab, rather spartan (or at least low budget) decor and furnishings.

I'll try somewhere else next time. There's at least four or five hotels right in the immediate area.

We stayed in the Residence Inn after a long car ride from Ohio, en route to the beach in South Carolina. My husband and I are big fans of Residence Inn because the quality is usually pretty good and there's lots of room for us and my two small kids (3 and 5). We generally get a two bedroom suite and make use of the fridge for milk and other cooler stuff. Our check-in was easy and took maybe two minutes. Our room was typical of a Residence Inn--NOT going to be featured on HGTV for impressive design--but functional and comfortable. In general the room was clean. One of the two bathrooms, not so much. Lots of hair, some seemingly of the pet variety, and some...well...let's just say there was hair. The shower head had been fixed one too many times and leaked regardless of how it was positioned. The tile was pretty beat up and grout kind of gone--you teetered a little on some of the floor tiles. The other bathroom, on the other hand, was just fine, and the rest of the suite, including kitchen, was fine. Breakfast was the usual Residence Inn fare, quite generous, combination of hot and cold stuff. The dining room however, was far too small for the hotel. It was PACKED. Lines were long. There weren't nearly enough tables. The poor staff lady working the room was doing a good job trying to keep up but she was sinking in the quicksand of hungry free breakfasters. All in all our stay was fine, and after I did my online survey, noting the dirty bathroom, I got an email from the head of engineering assuring me that if I contact him when I come back we wouldn't have those problems again. Honestly, not big deals although I do like a hair-free bathroom.

  • Liked — Size of room, proximity to freeway, fairly quiet
  • Disliked — The hair in the bathroom

We stayed at this hotel on a return trip from Orlando. It is conveniently located off of I-77 in a nice quiet area. It is adjacent to several other hotels. The check in was quick. We received room 622 which was described as a penthouse. It had one full bedroom in a loft and a murphy bed downstairs (pull out from wall). There also was a sleeper sofa available. The room had a full kitchen, a 4 piece place setting of dishes as well as table and 4 chairs. Room was well kept and clean. Two full baths also. The room comfortably fit our family of five (three small kids). The room was big enough to spend several days in if necessary. The pool was well kept but lacked enough pool towels. The hours were also short as it closed at 9PM. After driving all day, a closing time of 11PM would have been better. Check out was simple as well. Front desk personnel were extremely helpful with any question I had. Complimentary breakfast was average. Nice selection but kitchen help could not keep up with the amount of people eating. Didn't stay long enough to check out the area but would stay again at this hotel if in the area.

  • Liked — large rooms and quiet
  • Disliked — another bed instead of murphy bed
