“Requirement for a Carolina student”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2014

You cannot call yourself a real student of Carolina until you've stopped by here with almost no money and after a long night of enjoyment. Its quality is avg. But it is a legend. For decades it has provided filling food to poor, tired, drunk, or any other student that needed something that they could not pull off at Top of the Hill. You going out tonight? When you're hungry on the way home for something, anything, and what is in your wallet is a joke, Time Out doesn't laugh. It delivers.

“The King of Late Night Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

After a long night of drinking there is no place better to go to for food than Timeout. This place has the best late night food options. It just hits the spot. The biscuits are enormous. The fried okra is pretty awesome too.

“Greasy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

Old fashioned fast food out of a can and heated up. The big plus is that locals can run in here 24/7. A good cleaning and fresh ingredients (fat chance) would bring it up a few notches.

“Mac & Cheese”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

A few of us where in Raleigh for the Mercer/Duke game in the NCAA tournament. (GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!) After our victory, we sought out a delicious local eatery online. Our research took us down the road to Chapel Hill for the evening. (I will drive for delicious food.) Time Out isn't very fancy inside, but my friends and I sure enjoyed the famous chicken & cheese biscuit as well as the Mac & Cheese. There was something about that Mac & Cheese that was ridiculously amazing. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him. Overall a good experience with delicious food. Although, everything is yellow or fried and you'll hate yourself after eating it. But I'm not gonna have a salad for a late night snack.

“Not sure why a tradition?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

Driving through Chapel Hill so wanted to try something local. Time Out apparently a tradition in town.
Folks were nice. 1st bite of their famous chicken, cheese biscuit was great and downhill from there. The biscuit proceeded to self destruct making eating the rest difficult.
Rest of family had food from the "warming trays." Was not good and quite cold.
Next time we'll seek out another "tradition."
