“College visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

We stayed 3 nights on college tour at Duke and UNC. Enjoyed location, free breakfast. Room was good for 4 people. Used pool, which was relaxing. Breakfast was okay, but fruit could have been fresher. We also washed a load of laundry, which was good.

No big complaints. Front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well-furnished. Wi-fi speed was reasonable. You can hear a bit too much from the adjacent rooms, but nothing too disruptive. Breakfast was passable for American standards. Dinner was somewhat better. They had a nice-looking pool but it was raining so I didn't have a chance to try it.

The one reason I'm rating them as "good" instead of "average" is that they have a very convenient (and free) shuttle to and from UNC campus (and perhaps other areas too) and that came in very handy. Also, the drivers went out of their way to drop me/pick me up at the exact location needed.

My family and I have stayed at this hotel several different times on visits to Chapel Hill. It's a great location, nice furnishings, quiet and the staff is excellent. This is a great value if you are staying in the Triangle area.

We stay on a 2-queen, 1 bedroom Suite...Room and bathroom were VERY CLEAN... Spacious Suite, it felt we were right at home. 2 TV's, 1 in the bedroom another one in the living room/kitchen area. Great when you are travelling with kids. Happy and welcoming staff, they always want to help their customers. Great value since breakfast is included...eggs, waffles, juice, coffee, and more... We were able to check out at 1pm without any penalty...
MORE IMPORTANTLY - there were NO bed bugs or weird creatures in the room... So we were able to relax and enjoy.

We stayed for 5 nights while home for Christmas and it was the perfect place for us. Having a full well equipped kitchen was great. The room was clean and spacious and the location was good for us. Since we were there over the Christmas holiday it was nice and quiet. The restaurant and lounge were closed, so we can't comment on them. Overall it was a great place and we'll go back again.

We stayed here for 10 nights with our son and had a suite with 2 queen beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The room was really well equipped with full sized fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, 2 ring hob and all the kitchen equipment needed. The hotel also had a laundry room with plenty of machines. The gym was a good size, unfortunately the outside pool and jacuzzi weren't open but the weather was too cold to use on most days.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good neighbourhood. Close to shops and restaurants, being America you have to drive but we did find a footpath in front of the hotel that led to shops and restaurants.

The only downside was that the hotel decor seemed a little tired and in need of an update but it was clean.

We just had our third visit to this hotel and I must say it has NEVER disappointed us. We have a child at UNC and whenever we stay overnight we do our best to get a room here. The reasons are many, first it's very convenient to UNC and shopping and dining as well. Second, and to me most importantly, the rooms are spotlessly clean and very well appointed. We just stayed in a king suite and there were 2 tv's nice kitchen, bath etc. Each and every time we have checked in we have been greeted very warmly and made to feel that they are really glad we are staying with them. As others have mentioned, their "store" has a nice selection of snacks, beers and reasonably priced wines. They always have coffee in the lobbey too. We never get up early enough to enjoy the free breakfast but I have never read a bad review of their food so I have complete confidence that it's very good. The rooms however are great, very quiet, not soundproof, but amongst the best I have experienced. We are already looking forward to our next visit!!! If you are in the area , definitely worth it!!
