“A step up from other waffle homes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

This place has sort of similar decor to Waffle House but the food is way better. I got the M&M waffles which they are known for and of course I wasn't disappointed. This place is a crowd pleaser for many. A lovely fashion plate who appeared to be about 80 and sportin a stetson complimented me on my hair. Heck the atmosphere makes it well worth the trip.

“Best burger in town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012

Not open for dinner. Decades of breakfast excellence means there are long lines to get into Ye Olde Waffle Shop on weekends. Good omlets, waffles, pancakes and maybe the best hamburger in town.

“College Diner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

Be prepared to wait in line especially on the weekend. When you are waiting in line with a hungry stomach everything tastes great, but it's your average diner style food. The place is small so the tables are one on top of the other so it's difficult to get up and go to the rest room. The diner is really where the college kids bring their parents to eat before showing them around Chapel Hill. It's an eat and run place because they don't want you to linger so they can sit the guests waiting in line to be seated. I prefer a more quiet atmosphere when I have breakfast with my family.

“From the point of veiw of the kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2012 via mobile

this review was written by a 13 year old 5 minutes after eating at the restaurant:

this was the best breakfast i have had all week. then again, the only thing i have had to was mariot food but still it was delicious! when we walked in we were seated within 10 minutes in a line of 15 people which was incredible! Our drinks orders were taken within 1 minute of sitting down which was nice to get our drinks quickly! our orders were brought to us within minutes! i got the m&m pancakes and the hashbrowns! the pancakes wre to die for! the m&ms were distirbuted so you got some in every bite and the hashbrowns were the best part! instead of the bad hashbrowns when they just cut up the potatoes into quarters and throw them on the cooktop, they shred the potatoes and make a crispy outside on the potatoes on the cooktop. Now those were to die for! overall, everything was amazing and the srvice was impecible! it was fantastic! i cant wait to go back again!
