This is a decent restaurant but not great. The decor is sterile. All white with a few Japanese lanterns and a couple of white modern paintings with black stripes. It really was a dismal and cramped space.
Service was excellent. They waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about both food and wine, and the other staff unobtrusive but attentive.
The pork dumplings were average but the dipping sauce, because of the fresh cilantro, made it better than Chinese restaurants. The crab cake appetizer (a special) was better than average. For main entrees, the steamed black cod was very light; too light actually. I needed dessert afterwards. The steak filet special was good because of the bone marrow and other small accompaniments. The pork chop was well-prepared and enjoyed. The persimmon dessert was reminiscent of Thanksgiving with its spicing. The hot chocolate cake with coconut ice cream was decadent and delicious.
However, it came at a high price and we didn't leave thinking this was an exceptional dinner. Good, but quite expensive. We don't plan to return.
