After a day boating around Cedar Island, we stopped in the Driftwood Pirates Chest Restaurant. The staff made me feel like I was at home for Thanksgiving, and the manager recommended the Fried Shrimp. I have been told the secret to frying seafood is the light breading when it doesn't slide off, and hot oil. The explosion of fresh shrimp flavor was addictive, and the fresh tartar sauce made a great combo. I went all fried, adding oysters and okra, and enjoyed the salad bar. Sit in a booth under one of the round porthole windows overlooking the Cedar Island Ferry Landing. There were Kite Surfers offshore and horseback riding on the beach.
