“Good and authentic Chinese/ Taiwanese food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2011

They are from Taiwan and their food is just like the good ones you can find over there. The price is very reasonable. I believe you can easily find good American Chinese food too if you prefer the "localized" Chinese. However, for me, we take the advantage of our language capability and find out stuff that's not on menu. Don't worry; we have tried their daily special and they are good. For us, the important thing is they taste exactly like what I had back in Taiwan.

“Brand new, but already an old favorite!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2011

We visited this recently-opened restaurant after it was glowingly reviewed in the local newspaper by a notoriously critical reviewer. He loved it, and his review was spot-on. This is a fabulous place with very authentic specialties from Taiwan, Szechuan, and Zhejiang. Décor is simple and lovely, and the quality of the food belies its strip-mall location in busy downtown Cary, just a jot from NC State.

On the weekends the place is slammed with Cary’s large Asian community, but not so busy on weeknights. We were there for a (very) late lunch on a Sunday, and were waited on hand and foot. The tea, a custom blend of oolong and jasmine, is not to be missed. So far as we can tell, the menu, too, is flawless. We tried several dishes, including the soon-to-be famous beef and scallion pancake, which is good enough to make you weep. The kung pao shrimp was lightly cooked, very fresh, and appropriately hot. Everything, truly, was extraordinary. Just bursts of bright, fresh flavors in every bite.

This place gets a special nod for outstanding service. Warm and polished, the staff clearly loves what they do, and they spent a lot of time helping us with the menu. If you don’t have a lot of experience with authentic Chinese cuisine, this would be the place to head for a good tutorial. Prices are incredibly reasonable. Since we live relatively near Taipei 101, this place is going into permanent rotation, way, way up the list. We were so happy to find it, and can’t wait to take family and guests.
