“So much fun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

We came to the Pik N Pig by airplane and were thrilled with the food and the service. Couldn't have been easier to get to and we will definitely be back for their live music events. Good food and a good crowd.

“Great BBQ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

Just discovered this place a couple of years ago when a friend recommended it. It is located outside of town on a small private airport. They cook on large tank grills outside over wood. Being from south Florida, I don't care for typical Carolina BBQ with the vinegar sauce. This BBQ is the best I have found in the years I have been coming to NC. They have covered, outdoor seating not far off the runway. On the weekends a lot of people fly in for lunch so you can see them land and take off. Also, our dog is always welcomed outside and the server always brings him water.Friendly staff, good food and prices.

“Unreal BBQ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

This is it. While staying in Southern Pines golfing for a few days, we had heard about this place from locals. It's a half hour drive to Carthage, but we didn't care. It was MORE than worth the drive. GREAT staff, friendly, fast and professional. The food took less than 15 mins to arrive...and was excellent when it did. I had the chicken and pulled pork combo, my buddy had the beef brisket and pulled pork combo. Beans were fresh, slaw was crunch and not soaked in mayo...but the sweet potato stole the show. Baked until it was gooey and stringy a bit....served with homemade whipped butter and brown sugar on the side. YUM! I also had a couple of corn bread muffins with their signature "jalepeno butter'...yep. Beautiful Their spicy BBQ sauce is just that....SPICY. LOVED it. And their sweet tea was the best I had a week in the south. Homemade with love...you could taste the freshness. All in all...the best meal I had while south. The brisket was melt in your mouth good, so was the pork...the chicken was equal. The bill came to $38!!! Located next to the runway of a local airport, this place has character. The decor was funky and smattered with locals chatting and having fun. I got some spicy sauce to go, some rub and my buddy picked up a t-shirt he liked it so much. We will be back to Southern Pines to golf and the 'Pik N Pig' is on our hit list for sure! Way to go boys and girls...a BBQ restaurant that does it up right!

“Watch the Planes and Eat Killer Q”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

Downhome barbeque cooked perfectly. First clue: the place was packed with locals on a Saturday morning. The pulled pork is to die for. Brisket, not my idea of barbeque (that's why God made pigs), is melt in your mouth tender and delicious. Service was friendly and very good.

“Fun setting; decent food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Outdoor patio is good place to enjoy the goings on around the private airport. Food was decent, service was relatively indifferent.
