spend 2 night while attending a workshop at hotel and got special rates. The staff very friendly and wanted to serve the large group. The breakfast buffett high but food was good. The hotel food and staff rates high compared to other sites that I have visited over the years. Ocean view from all rooms is great and can go for a walk on the sand by stepping out the door. The hotel appears to be mid-line but the location is at the top if you like the beach.
Good value if you want to be on the water.

We recently spent Christmas weekend at the Courtyard Marriott in Carolina Beach, NC and thoroughly enjoyed it!
We experienced super friendly and attentive service, spectacular ocean views, and the best breakfast buffet we've ever had. (Try their delicious sausage links and made-to-order waffles!)
Every need and concern we had during our stay was promptly addressed by the exceptional staff including hotel manager, Brett Darlington. Working in hotel management myself, I was very appreciative of this level of professionalism and attentiveness.
We would highly recommend this property and found it to be an outstanding value. We will return!

We stayed in the hotel for 3 days recently. We were a bit dissapointed right off the start because thier indoor pool and whirlpool was down for maintenance the entire time. While the staff was not rude or anything, they simply did not make you feel like a special guest. We felt more like unexpected guests. The room we stayed in smelled awful. We did everything we could to get rid of it, but could not. We ordered some room service as well, but the food we got was cold and really wasn't that good. There are no microwaves in the rooms here, but they do offer one microwave you can use at the front desk area. In all, we enjoyed our trip to Carolina Beach, but would consider going to another hotel next time. The one thing we enjoyed most about this hotel was the fact that all the rooms had a wonderful view of the ocean.

My husband and two surfer dude sons stayed at the courtyard this past weekend. It was kinda pricey $139 per night, $157 with taxes, but overall this is a nice hotel. The front desk staff were very nice and welcoming. The beach is the best, the rooms have great oceanviews with patios. The outdoor pool very nice. Indoor pool and hot tub are quite small. The hot tub was too hot and the pools were not heated. The restuarant was very expensive, but they offer free flavored coffees and teas. The only serious compliant we had was when we turned on the air conditioner there was a nasty smell (like cat pee), fortunately it was pretty cool, so we just kept the patio door open. If you go, you gotta go to the Wilmington Ghost walk, we have done this twice and both times had a ball. Downtown Wilmington is a great place to sightsee with lots of history there.

We toured this hotel shortly after it was built. It was kind of depressing because the quality of the construction and decorating was poor. The entire, brand new hotel had a budget feel to it. We said we would never stay here. However, now that I see the high prices that the Holiday Inn Sunspree resort at Wrightsville Beach usually commands in the off season, I think staying here for half the price is a reasonable idea for those who can't afford the Sunspree prices (200 plus in the off season). I would definitely rather stay here than the smelly, run down Blockade Runner.
Carolina Beach has experienced a revival and surge in home and lot prices. It's gradually becoming less and less blue collar. In the summer, the beach road leading to Carolina Beach becomes very congested and slow. I'm not sure, but I don't think the restaurants in this area are as good as those in the Wrightsville Beach area.
I was very surprised that this was a Courtyard- the ones I'm familiar with have a higher end feel.
