During our one-week visit in Carolina Beach, we passed this restaurant several times before decided to give it a try. It had an outside patio that was usually filled with customers, so we guessed that the food must be good. And it was good, but not great...
The first evening we came, we could not get a table even though we didn't see many people, so we came back the next evening. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, but even she could not help the long delay on the part of the kitchen staff which was very strange because there were almost no guests in the restaurant that early. We love seafood so decided to order the snapper and grouper, but when it came to the table, both the plates looked exaactly the same. This could not be explained by the waitress, but we were hungry and let it go. The fish was good (not great) but I have to say the the cole slaw was flavorful and the best thing about our dinner.
Another small downside is that the restaurant is on the corner of two heavily traficked roads and the stench of exhaust can be a problem for those with breathing difficulties and the noise from motors revving up can be a little irritating if you were hoping for a quiet dinner for two!
