“Good chicken - pricey for Calabash.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

If you are in Calabash and don't want fried seafood - check out this place. Next to the famous Creamery, it's a prime spot. It's a little expensive for chicken in calabash - and the sides are really small for sharing family style. We were there with a party of 8 - one vegetarian who loved their spinach empanada - ordered 2. We had yucca, beans, chicken and desserts. All tasty, but small portions for sharing.

“Exceptional change from deep fried seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

Crispy exterior, moist, tender interior chicken. Marinated overnight and charcoaled rotisserie. Peruvian blend is unique and flavorful. Sides were well portioned ans delicious. The empanadas and flan were also excellent.
Casual family atmosphere and the family who runs the place are friendly and inviting.
A welcome change to the ubiquitous fried beach seafood.

“Flavorful, moist and well prepared”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

As others have already mentioned, this is a new cuisine for the area and we hope it gets a good following. Chicken was nicely marinated and several sauces with differing levels of spice can be added depending on one's taste. The whole chicken can easily feed four but our only slight letdown was the three sides could not be stretched to that many plates. Four plantain, smallish, and four fried yucca (good but again relatively small) only suffice for two. Had the diet version of Inca Cola which never heard of but will order again.

We recommend the owners consider a bigger portion but other than that, we found the food worth coming back for. We did takeouts but there are several tables available.

“Mmmmm Delicious Chicken”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

This brand new restaurant is family owned and their specialty is Peruvian rotisserie chicken. You order at a counter where you can see the side dishes and they have a limited number of tables and booths. They marinate their large chickens in a "secret sauce" for 24 hours before cooking it in a huge rotisserie oven. The result is a very tender and juicy chicken with a DELICIOUS flavor. A whole chicken with 3 sides is $19.95. And they have some very interesting sides such as Plantains, Peruvian beans, Fried Yucca and, yes, they have French Fries and Cole Slaw.
They also have 1/4 and 1/2 chickens and some interesting sounding Peruvian sandwiches. Empanadas are only $1.99.
You can order ahead at 910-579-5900. (We got the last whole chicken when we were there and the next batch wasn't due out for half an hour.)
It's a nice change from typical fast food and they even have homemade Flan.
