I took my two sons and one relative out for the 1/2 day private fishing charter through Voyager. When I made the reservation they assured me their boats all have air conditioning, sitting cabin, and live bait. I looked through their website after making the reservation as they told me the name of the boat and captain. My boat was to pictured on their site. I tried emailing them with no response. So I called the following day to ensure that this boat was set up as they said and they assured me that it was. When we arrived our we found our boat (looked like that boat from Jaws as far as vintage and condition) and our captain and first mate were both elderly folks. I have no problem with that after all at least their probably experienced. We caught no fish while we trolled for the first 2 hours and all they did was put on some little lure and didn't touch anything for two hours. Then they finally got out far enough to try a little bottom fishing. They didn't have ANY bait other than beef jerky (no lie). Not only that we also had to wait for them to rig up poles for us to use for bottom fishing and they only had three. One of us would not be able to fish. (definitely not a crowd pleaser). We were able to catch a couple small sea bass that we then started using for bait. My boys ended up catching a couple little sharks so the day was not a total waste.
The boat was very old and did NOT have air conditioning as promised. It also leaked like crazy when it was raining on the way back in. There was nowhere to go in the boat where we would not get wet. We were all sick from the diesel fumes the whole time.
I will not be returning to this outfit ever.
Last year I went on the big boat with Hurricane Fleet with my son and caught way more fish and had an excellent time for a whole lot less money. I will try them for a private charter next time.
