“Good Gluten Free Menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

We returned to Boundary House this year and were pleasantly surprised to find that they now have a "formal" Gluten Free Menu. Previously they provided only a typed up GF "guideline". There was a good selection of GF choices on the menu. The server was well informed and took very good care of us. The luncheon choices we made were very tastey - the GF Chicken with bacon, cheese and GF Fries (that were very good) and the non GF blackened Flounder with coleslaw. We will definitely be returning.

Boundary House have many excellent menu choices.

“Wonderful seafood!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

We visited this restaurant on a Monday evening. We are early diners even on vacation. The restaurant was busy, even on Monday. We have eaten at most of the restaurants in Calabash, but had never tried the Boundary House. What a treat! Our service was wonderful even though our server had a large party of about 25 people. She (Sharon) never failed to check on us periodically. The food? Oh, my. Their house salad was delicious, with bacon, pecans, eggs and more and the balsamic vinaigrette was very good. The honey butter croissant on the side was amazing. I did not see popcorn shrimp on the menu and questioned this. No problem! My husband ordered the large shrimp and I had the special request popcorn. Both were cooked to perfection. The hushpuppies were crisp and delicious and the potatoes, both baked and mashed, were tasty! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's not just seafood, the steaks and pasta on the menu looked wondeful, as well. This is our new favorite restaurant in Calabash. It's worth the drive from North Myrtle or even Myrtle. Give it a try!

“Pushing No Boundaries”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

This is a large and impersonal restaurant with both unremarkable food and decor. A good place to take mom and the kids with interesting shopping nearby. The food and service were good, but a little pricey. One of those places you might visit once if you're in the area.

“Exceptional!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

We went to Callahan's first and was delighted to find the Boundary House right outside the door as we had planned to eat there since it had been recommended to us back in North Myrtle Beach. As we went in, we asked another person going in if it was a good place to eat and she said it was and that she was a local and she always comes for lunch as they have great lunch specials. She was absolutely right. $8.95 or $7.95 for the lunch specials and they were indeed all you would want to eat and more. Two in our party ordered the Monte Cristo Sandwich which was excellent and looked beautiful as it was deep fried--like a deep fried donut! Another got the fried flounder--two large pieces, which he said was very good and I got the Mile High BLT and it was incredibly delicious and loaded with bacon. Each of us could order one of their many side dishes with our order. Two of us got the cucumbers and onions in a white sauce which was totally incredible (the chef's grandmother's recipe made fresh every morning), one got the house salad (with all sorts of extras in it and the house raspberry vinaigrette that they make on site) and another got the steamed vegetables of the day (gorgeous broccoli heads, carrots and snow peas). Our waitress, Victoria, was as sweet as they come and was efficient and ready to serve our every need. The manager and hostess also checked with us and made sure everything was fine. Drinks were pleasantly refilled without request and to go cups were provided as well. Dessert was offered but there was definitely no room. Their key lime mints at the door are a nice added refreshment and they even offer them by the bag for sale. I would someday like to try their sister restaurant, Clark's, in Little River. They gave us a copy of their to-go menu which includes the history which is also on the back of their menu and also gave us a copy of Clark's menu. A very nice enjoyable experience in a very clean atmosphere with nice ambiance, good lighting and not too noisy. A great place to dine for adults but it would be a great place to bring children as well.
