We recently visited relatives on the outer banks of North Carolina. While there we took one day to drive down the shore and see the sights. We left about dawn and planned to have breakfast along the way. A friend suggested the Diamond Shoals Restaurant in Buxton, NC. Since our route went through Buxton, we took the advice. When we arrived at the restaurant, we found the parking lot almost full. We entered through a small gift shop and were seated in the main dining room. The place was clean and the staff was pleasent. The menu was composed of normal breakfast items for that part of the country. We had no trouble finding items to order. The order took a little while to come out of the kitchen, probably because the restaurant was so busy. It was worth the wait. Everything was prepared as ordered, hot, and very good. We could see why the place has such a local following. We will make a return visit the next time we are in the area.
