Description: Cafe Pamlico provides a world class casual fine dining experience through exceptional food, outstanding detail oriented service, an inspired wine and cocktail program, and gracious attentive Southern hospitality. Our contemporary coastal cuisine is driven by locally sourced seafood, meats, and produce. Our menu changes frequently in accordance with the fresh ingredients our chefs discover on the island, most notably the fresh local seafood we feature. We are committed to supporting local farmers and artisan food producers first, sustainable resources second, and organic third. Reservations are highly recommended.

“Good, but not great...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

It was a very nice dinner, but unfortunately didn't blow us away as we expected it would (perhaps wrongfully so). Both my wife and I had the filet, and both were near well-done (ordered medium). In fairness, they did offer to remake the steaks, but they were still fairly juicy and tasted pretty good. Prices were very high and our bill ended up over $100 with us splitting desert and only one alcoholic drink. Tried our friends' tuna, which was quite good and the shrimp and grits was very good, according to another friend. Our desert was okay; we shared a chocolate cake creation. The cake didn't taste freshly made and was a bit dense.

“Ridiculously overpriced and slightly pretentious”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013 via mobile

We read the great reviews and we were ready to splurge. It was our first night on Hatteras Island and we wanted to celebrate. We got extremely disappointed with our entrees...It was the kind of food that I could easily cook at home, there was nothing special and the plate presentation was sloppy. The menu misleadingly announced roasted chicken when in fact it was a dried out chicken breast and a few badly roasted potatoes, a spoon of ratatouille (I can do 100 times better at home), for $27...My husband got the mahi mahi, served with the same sides as the chicken, roasted potatoes and ratatouille, his fish was topped with Mexican style black beans, which didn't go at all with the sides. It felt that they were putting whatever was left over in the kitchen without real knowledge about what flavors go together. I have never spent that much money in a restaurant and been so disappointed. One good thing out of the experience: my cooking confidence got boosted because I can do so much better at home!

“Wonderful addition to a wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

We had both dinner and breakfast at the Cafe Pamlico. Just like the Inn itself, the Cafe is simple, charming and serves excellent food. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. The food was beautifully presented. There is a fresh herb garden right outside the door and the chef does an outstanding job of creating great food. We also attended a wedding in Hatteras that was catered by the Cafe...again...everyone raved about the food. Great choice!

“Relaxed and Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

Service was terrific and the atmosphere is whatever you want it to be....casual or dressy. If you sit on the porch you have a beautiful view of the sound. The food was delicious.
