The trip starts with an authentic rail ride up the mountain via a locomotive train. The train travels over the Fontana Dam, and you can watch as the water is released, and the small stream that flows beside the road you are traveling on becomes deeper and deeper. At the top of the mountain, those wishing to brave the rapids disembark where they are suited up for the thrilling ride back down the mountain via white water rafting. There were people of all ages from us (in our late 40's) to older folk to younger kids that were part of a church group. The ride down the river was thrilling and well worth the trip, Once you reach the bottom, there are dressing rooms and bathrooms available so you can change into drier clothes. After the raft ride folks are treated to a nice picnic style lunch with all the trimmings. Definately a once in a lifetime trip that was well worth the cost. I would love to do this again. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. The lunch was delicious, and the trip up the mountain on the train was definately exciting.
