“Much better when this was a Shoney's”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2012

Unappealing atmosphere, and terrible lackluster food, however prices are cheap. My recommendation is to skip this place. Much better restaurants in Brevard.

“Decent food, great portion, miserable service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2011

This is my second visit to the restaurant. The food was decent, even though I became ill about an hour later. I don't know if there was something wrong with the food or not. But my main complaint would be the service. The owner took our order and she did not come back for a refill or to check the food. I also had to ask for a box twice. When I did she didn't bother to even look in our direction, acknowledge that we had spoken or anything. After the second request for a box she slightly rolled her eyes, again said nothing and just dropped the box on the table and walked away. Whether the food is decent or not for japanese people in the mountains of Nc or not, I wouldnt recommend that you visit. After all the restaurant ranks in the 20's out of almost 50 restaurants in brevard. Go somewhere else!

“Big Portions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

Yes, the portions are big, and the prices are cheap, but the food is just so-so. If you're looking for authentic Japanese food, this place sure isn't the place. On the other hand, I'm from the NYC area...so perhaps this is the best you can do in Western NC. The staff was attentive and friendly.

“Decent Japanese food at an ultra-bargain price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2010

Fuji Yama is the ultra bargain-priced Japanese restaurant in Brevard. Nothing fancy - a fairly Spartan decor - but you get tons of pretty good food at very, very reasonable prices. They have chicken, scallops, shrimp and steak available, either separately or in combinations. Meals are served with rice and either broccoli or cooked carrots. Service is very, very quick (within a few minutes) and attentive. There are 3 lures to this place: the food and the price and the quick service. Be warned: it is not fancy and you'll leave full. How does $20 for 2 full meals (including drinks) sound?

“Locals favorite, lots of food for not much money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2009

Fuji Yama is one of my favorite local restaurants to eat at. They do not have a huge menu but what they have is really good and they give you a huge plate of food. The free soup at the beginning of the meal and the shrimp sauce served on the side with the meal are real good. The prices are real cheap also. My complete meal, drink and all was around $7.50. The building is an old Shoney's restaurant next to some other stores but don't judge a book by it's cover this place can be your hidden treasure. If you want a HUGE buffet, big building and a bigger bill go across the street to The Twin Dragons, they have great food and service too. If you want a smaller, Quieter, cheaper place to eat try Fuji Yama's it will turn into one of your favorite places to eat also.
