“Great beer in a beautiful place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

Oskar Blues in WNC is a great place to experience craft brewing. Altough the beer is on the pricier side, you get some bang for your buck by %abv. The taps are all good (my favorite is the G'Knight, but the rotating taps and firkins are always interesting - Google firkin), and tours are offered. There is also a weekend shuttle to Brevard from Asheville if you're visiting Asheville. However, given Brevard's bounty of natural scenery, maybe you'd be better off driving down yourself. There is a weekly Wednesday mountain bike group ride, and an old time jam on Mondays with everyone's favorite bartenders, Ciera and Carissa! Their website has information on times and happenings. Watch out, they close at eight during the week!

“Funky & cool tasting room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

After doing the Southern stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway, we went to Brevard to check out the Oskar Blues Brewery. It's definitely off the beaten path, don't know if we would have found it without the GPS. Once we found the road, then you have to go "to the end of the road" to find the Brewery. It's very industrial looking but once inside it's a funky place upstairs overlooking the brewery. We were there on 10/24/13 & we started out with a couple of flights for a group of 6 to sample. We each found our favorites & settled on pints after that. It was a busy place with peanuts in the shell to munch on. We loved the tip jars with the crazy sayings on them - like "Quit lookin' at my tips" & many more. The bartender/waitress in our group may try some of your sayings on her tip jar at home. We got some goodies in the souvenir shop. There was some live music that night but we had to head back to Asheville to hook up with the rest of our group for dinner. Would stop back again if passing this way on a future road trip.

“Nice taproom overlooking brewery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

If you're used to visiting micro-breweries, the scale of Oskar Blues will blow you away. We arrived on a weeknight (struggling to find the place as others have said) and enjoyed a Cinnamon Coffee Chub -- yum! Nice friendly atmosphere at the taproom and live music while we were there. Funny thing -- we arrived at 7:30 p.m., about 15 minutes before last call at 7:45! No problem -- we got the pint we came for. Would love to take a tour!

“Fun place, great beer.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

As others have noted, this place is off-the-beaten-path! Follow the signs and your GPS to find a really fun place to get a brewery tour and sample some great brews.

Inside, upstairs overlooking the brewery is a fun bar with live music and a souvenir shop. They have samplings of all their beers, including a flight - a four-oz sample of each of the beers they brew for $9 total.

You can buy any of them in various increments from 4 oz, pint, gallon, or keg!

I have visited and toured several craft breweries in Atlanta, and this one is as fun and interesting as any I've visited - and actually when I was there on a Saturday night, less crowded and more inviting. The band was great and not too loud.

If you find yourself looking for something to do in Brevard, this is a great choice!
