“Lunch with style and value, awesome service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Had lunch with a friend recently at Quixote, the newest entry into the space just across from Ingles north of Brevard College on Broad Street. My friend enjoyed the pecan and apple chicken, I ordered the mushroom pork and rice. The pork loin was exceptionally tender and the mushroom sauce flavorful without being over-salted, wish I could eat it again, and I just might. The service was friendly and perfectly attentive: being called "muchachos" did cause me to chuckle. The lunch offered a pleasantly quiet but active setting, with a very reasonable pricetag.

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

This restaurant outshines its designation - Mexican. Yes, the wonderful owners and servers originate from Mexico and there are some superb dishes from Mexico. But the soups, chicken, seafood, and beef come in many imaginative recipes. We have never been disappointed. The beautiful indoor fountain and friendly, helpful staff make it easy to fantasize that you are on a plaza in a Mexican village. My dearest wish is that this restaurant will be part of the Brevard scene for decades to come.

“Excellent food, friendly/efficient service, & good prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

We hemmed and hawed about visiting this new addition to the Brevard restaurant scene and all I can say now it was lost time. We meet some visiting friends there for lunch on a whim and wow.. First, we had a super server -- Andrea. She answered all of our many questions about the menu and even brought out a sample of their (excellent) mole for us to try before ordering. The fare wasn't the ordinary tex-mex slop and was much more representative of what good food actually tastes like in Mexico. We ordered a bottle of Alamos Malbec wine for $18 (a great bargain) and they had a great selection of bottled Mexican and American beers. We really wanted to try the desserts (we all were eying the delicious looking flan on our neighbor's table), but we were just too full (did I mention the delicious appetizer of queso fundido and chorizo?). Try it out -- we were glad we did and we'll be back.

“Enjoyable Evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This was our first visit to this restaurant, and we will be back! The atmosphere was relaxing and conversation could proceed without noise interruption. The Huaraches de Calabacitas (vegetarian) was excellent and will be ordered again. My husband ordered the Arrachera, a grilled shirt steak, marinated with chimichuri and served with nopales, rice and beans. He said it was absolutely excellent. The Burritos de Frijol was quite good as well (vegetarian). We started with Guacamole Fresco as an appetizer. One could tell that it was prepared fresh - an excellent starter. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

“Lovely ambiance, delicious food, affordable prices.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

In our first visit to Quixote, we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, Victor. He said that he wants his visitors to enter the door and feel that they are leaving behind the cares of the day and being transported to another land. That is exactly what I felt.

As you walk in you see and hear a courtyard fountain that prepares you for a relaxing and nourishing experience. The creative lighting makes you feel that you are bathed in starlight. The staff, who are Victor's family, are kind and efficient. You really feel that your pleasure is their number one aim. Then the food comes. Victor's wife is the cook. The lady knows what she is doing. You savor sauces and broths that are delicately balanced, meat that is cooked to perfection, and a strawberry cheesecake that my food-snob husband conceded rivaled his pastry chef mother's. This was a first! And they even have filtered water -- a rarity that I am very grateful for. There is nothing that offends my tongue like the taste of chlorinated water after a pleasurable meal.

And to cap it all off, the bill was more than reasonable. We will be back to this treasure of a retreat many times to come and bring our friends.
