“Great food but management needs to address a few things”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

The food is superb, and the scenery is outstanding. The crab cake and the mountain trout were fantastic on our first night's dinner. Next night the flatiron steak and salmon were also gourmet meals. Third night was more delicious crab cakes, cured meats, and salads.

However, there are a few things that disappointed us. The floor in the dining room was not cleaned from the nights before and had spots of food and crumbs throughout. This is a shame since the room is beautiful with nice white tablecloths and a beautiful setting to view the mountains. We saw the same crumbs for 3 days!

Each day, we got an email from James asking how the restaurant had done. When I replied, I finally got a reply from James that he no longer works there. In my opinion, this is another management issue. Makes me wonder if anybody is in charge. If the email was working properly, someone could have been told about the dirty floor.

Our server all three evenings was Gregory - a tremendous asset to The Table. Efficient and friendly, and obviously knows the menu and ingredients in each dish. Great service and good recommendations on food selections. He also remembered our preferences from each previous night (lemon with the water, regular butter instead of honey butter, etc. Thanks Gregory.

My review may sound like I am very unhappy. Overall, I loved the food and service and would probably dine here again. My comments are in the hope that management can learn and take steps to correct their shortcomings.

“Fabulous view and gracious service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

We dined at The Table and were quite pleased with the service, food and in particular, the view! We wanted something less filling than entrees and so ordered an array of appetizers, all delicious. We had meat and cheese plates as well as a crab cake, and were quite satisfied with all three selections. The cheeses were a nice variety and quite unique, served with a tequila jelly. My husband was happy with the meat plate, a selection of sliced meats and sausages along with a tangy mustard. Of particular note was the warm fresh bread and honey butter served before the meal. Wines were rather pricey but that is the case everywhere, so nothing unusual there. We were seated by the window overlooking a beautiful lawn with blooming rododendrums and a distant layered mountain view and the setting sun. Beautiful!

The lodge itself is reminiscent of the many English Country House Inns and Hotels we have visited in the UK, which some would say are in need of an update, but to us exude charm and tradition and are preferable to new, sleek and modern. We will return to this restaurant and do recommend it to those who appreciate an older, yet charming environment in a beautiful mountain setting.

“High end dining with great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

The food here was expensive but it tasted good. They bring it out to you and it looks so little but you'd be so surprised at how filling it is. The sauces are very thick and creamy so that when you're done, you're astonished you have leftovers.

The view is excellent though at sunset, the sun is right in your eyes. Try to find a seat where you're not looking directly at the sun.

“What a nice restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

The tables was our second choice. As the Gamekeeper was closed we dined here and were not disappointed. We had our appetizers served to us at the quaint fireplace chairs and coffee table. The main course was at our table. Everyone was very accommodating. Very nice wine list with a nice price spread. Our food was delicious. My wife had the local trout and I opted for the Chicken dish of the night. Everything was so good. We look forward to our next trip in the fall.

“Decent food - with an awesome view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

I would start by saying the 4 out of 5 was a blended score between the food and the view. For the price of the meal, I would have expected the food to be much better - I had the pan seared Ahi grade tuna, which was ok, but a tad on the very thin side. My wife had the Salmon, which according to her, wasn't nearly as good as what we prepare at home...

The view on the other hand - was incredible! We stopped by the restaurant this past Saturday, just after the rain had passed through and we treated to an awesome sun set.
