This is our second time staying here, and were very pleased. I'll keep review short and direct - we were looking for a good value in our hotel, this was MUCH lower $$ than other hotels, but very good value for the money. It's not the Ritz, but very nice hotel for family. Popcorn on arrival, Good continental breakfast, clean room, clean bathroom, clean pool area (indoor pool). We recommend to anyone looking for a nice hotel, on a budget. And I don't mean cheap, this was a good value. Very helpful staff - got us a spoon at 9:00 at night and even had some AAA batteries for us, very friendly. Good location, a little up the road in boone, but not inconvenient at all. And we spent most of our time in Blowing Rock.

We were given a quote over the phone for $118.00 before tax. When we arrived at the hotel we were told that the total would be $139 and change. Now I'm no mathmatician but NC taxes aren't THAT high! When we complained to the manager, we were told, "Sorry. That's what you owe." The beds were miniature and hard as a rock. The breakfast is NOT what they claim. We will never stay here again and take my advice, you shouldn't either!

This hotel would not make me make a single night reservation even though they had plenty of rooms availiable. WHat do they thgink they are? A luxury bed and breakfats? This is a MOTEL! I can't believe I could not book a room for a single night.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel a couple weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and quiet. They had all the standard amenities you'd expect at a 3 or 4 star hotel. The complimentary breakfast included cereal, toast, muffins, bagels, bread, and juices. Even though we didn't use it, the hotel had an indoor pool. The only downside of our stay is that when we got there, we were assigned to a room on the front side of the building facing the highway. You could hear the cars passing, so we requested another room on the backside of the building. The receptionist was happy to accommodate us. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Boone.

So we made reservations in November 2007, 7 months in advance of our trip. We reserved a king size bed. We CHOSE this hotel because they had king size beds. My husband is 6 ft. 7 inches, and he NEEDS a king size bed. Well, a week before we are to arrive, they call, leave a message that there was an error, (they overbooked) and they would be switching us to 2 double beds. WHAT? We booked 7 months in advance...THEY over booked, and instead of changing the last reservation received, they picked ours (we think because our last name begins with "A". Then came the countless phone calls back and forth. They found us a hotel that had a king available, but at double the price and about 5 miles further away. We said no, we expected them to honor their reservation that was confirmed 7 months ago. Well of course we arrive, they try once again to stick us in a double bed, we tell the front desk that was totally unacceptable, demanded to see the manager...and guess what...miraculously a king bed materialized. Lucky for us we got there early enough.

And the "complimentary continental breakfast" was one of the worst I have ever seen. Not anywhere near enough tables for guests to sit (folks were sitting on the window sills and the FLOOR to eat). I don't know why they bothered...the bagels were stale, the pastries were stale, the juice was obviously watered down. The next morning we ate out at the diner down the street. Would rather pay for breakfast then eat that stuff.

  • Liked — It's location
  • Disliked — Service...oh yeah, there wasn't any.

Could not fault this hotel at all. As soon as we pulled up it looked good and the staff were so friendly on arrival. Everywhere was well maintained, the rooms were clean and very comfortable. There was also an indoor pool, which was an unexpected bonus, but we did not have time to use it, only staying the one night, as we were touring. We had
complimentary continental breakfast also, which was well laid out and perfectly adequate. At one point we had problems with our room key
and could not get back into our room. We reported it and had to wait just five minutes for the problem to be sorted. If we ever went that way again, we would certainly stay there. Very enjoyable, just a shame
it was so brief.
