“Amazing wedding venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We got married here in November of 2007 and are getting ready to celebrate our 5 year anniversary at Crestwood this weekend. I have nothing but great memories and would recommend this for the stay and wedding venue to anyone. We also had our food catered though Credtwood as well and it was top notch. This time of year is the best for scenery, our photos turned out amazing because of the fall colors! Thank you Crestwood for giving me lifelong memories I will cherish forever!

I had heard about Crestwood from a couple friends, and after having our first baby and a crazy first three months, we decided a "mommy-daddy get away" was needed. We gave crestwood a try, and it didnt disappoint. The Inn and grounds were beautiful! I would honestly just go back for the view during my morning coffee! We were most excited that it was located close enough to fun things to do like zip lining and caving, but on the night that we wanted to just sit and have a drink we didnt have to leave the property. Everything was so peacful. Honestly, the easiest vacation we've ever had. Definately going to re-visit next year.

Too bad for this restaurant AND THEIR MANAGEMENT, for a poorly orchestrated and poorly timed and cooked meal. WITH RESERVATIONS, we waited for over TWO hours for our meal. Because we had a party of 12, they thought they could stick us in a back corner and forget about us. One couple, that ordered their chicken pot pie, were told they were out of crust and were served the entree with any crust. They were out of snapper for another couple and that couple was served bass [cold]. Salads were "forgotten" and were served late. They continually "ran out" of what we ordered including our "free" desserts since our service and food were so bad and cold. Our poor service person, frustrated himself, finally brought all desserts left and set them on our table. When complaints were finally expressed to the manager, he threw his arms in the air and walked out. THIS IS NOT AN INEXPENSIVE PLACE. We were told that they had reservations and service for 58 but had allowed over 200 [yes!!! [200!] people in that night. With a reservation, we were put on the back burner. They still made their 20% gratuity since our party [WITH RESERVATIONS] was more than 6. Our food was underwhelming. -- The view is lovely but forget the rest of it.

My husband and I were married at Crestwood Labor day Weekend. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend in the mountains. From the beginning our experience with Crestwood was amazing. Everyone was so helpful and nice to work with. When we toured Crestwood we knew it was the place for us with its rustic, charming, and vintage feel. We dined at "The Table" and was sold.

The Wedding weekend was perfect. The staff was extremely friendly to myself and the guest. I had several guest comment on how professional and nice the staff was. Right after the wedding ceremony, the GM greeted us and told us congratulations and insisted we let him know if we needed anything. Now, that is great service!

We had the rehearsal dinner, reception, and breakfast the following morning, and the food was wonderful.

The Accomodations were great. We had the entire Inn booked for our guest and everyone seemed to like it. I love the Grandfather Suite that I stayed in... a little dated, but it gives the vintage feel to the Inn. It was plenty of room to get ready with 6 girls and not feel crunched. We dined on the porch with the mountains in the background.

CeCe Hampton was our coordinator. She is amazing, detailed, organized, and handles herself in a professional manner no matter the obstacles. The receptionists were outstanding and so friendly. They always were avaliable to assist me and the guest.

In conclusion, we had a great experience and look forward returning many years to come.

Nice location out of the mainstream of Blowing Rock. The property shows wear and cleaning personnel do the very minimum as mentioned by others, also concur that the staff were unorganized, although the women at the front desk were very nice.
We stayed in the main building and the noice and smoking of a private party below went on until 3:30 AM. The outside lighting remained on all night long shining into the room. We did enjoy our time there overall but it could be so much more with some basic leadership and supervision.

Room Tip: Be careful if staying in the main building as the noise of the private events, parties, weddings, et...

We got in from an App State game about 8:30pm to pull back the sheets and see several long hairs and then tons of short hairs. We called the front desk where the lady says "Are they human or animal hairs?" Is that really the question? Then she proceeds to ask "What would you like me to do about it?" We asked to switch rooms (none available) or get new sheets. She brought the sheets to us and handed them off at the door. Not an apology nor did she ask to change them for us. When we changed the sheets we found a large blood stain on mattress, no mattress pad. The bathroom was also dirty.

My husband and I stayed at the Crestwood a few years ago and had a fabulous experience so we eagerly anticipated our return. Unfortunately, this time, other than the plus of being in a beautiful location, the Crestwood was a big disappointment. Due to a wedding at the inn, we were told in advance that we should consider dining elsewhere, however we had no idea that we wouldn't be able to use the library or Dawg Star bar that evening. The room was just average. The pillowcases were too small and didn't completely cover the pillows. The breakfast buffet served from 7-10 am ran out of some items by 8:30. Checkout was impersonal and no one asked us about our stay. For the price paid, I would have expected a lot more. Sorry, Crestwood, but we will no longer be recommending you to our friends.
